Epilogue

Two years later...
ItoldtheguysI needed to step outside for some air, yet here I am, turning down the hall that leads to the bridal suite instead of the back garden. I assume they thought I had anxieties being my wedding day, but in fact, there’s never been a decision I have been surer of. Well, besides asking Brynn to marry me in the first place.
I softly tap my knuckles on the wooden door. The door whips open, and I come face-to-face with Hadley. Her smile quickly fades when she sees me, and she partially shuts the door so I can’t see into the room.
“Oh, hell no,” she shouts.
“Who is it?” Lexi quickly comes into view, and her eyes bulge. “Get out of here, mister.” She shoves me back, and since it catches me off guard, I stumble back a few steps. I rub my chest where she pushed me.Dang, I sure hope Ben never makes her angry—she’s small but mighty.
“You cannotsee the bride yet. You’ll see her soon. Now go.” Hadley points forward like she’s putting me in timeout.
“Okay, okay.” I hold up my hands innocently. “Will you just do me a favor and give this letter to Brynn for me?” I reach into my suit jacket and retrieve a tiny envelope with her name written on it. I could easily brush past them both to give it to her myself, but the stern expressions on both Lex and Hadley’s faces tell me I shouldn’t even try. Not unless I want to spend my wedding night icing my balls.
Brynn and I chose to write our vows, yet I wrote her a letter instead when I sat down. I could’ve easily changed them to be church-appropriate to say in front of everyone, but where was the fun in that. I then wrote a second set of vows that, while they may be much shorter than this letter, express just how much this woman owns me—every damn part.
“Yeah, fine, whatever. Now go,” Hadley scolds, accepting the envelope I hold out before shutting the door in my face.
I let out a deep chuckle at their dramatics. I press my palm against the wooden door as if I could feel Brynn right there on the other side. “I love you, Brynn.”
“I love you, too,” I hear.
The smile on my face widens. She was there. I adjust my suit coat and make my way back to the groom’s suite, where Ben and Asher are waiting. When I turn the corner, I walk right into Ben and Asher, standing with arms crossed like security guards. All that’s missing is the earpiece andMen in Black–style sunglasses.
“Busted!”
“What?” I shrug past them with a smile on my face.
Asher reaches out, grabbing my bicep, stopping me from running off. “Don’t even try to play. I just got a nasty text from Hadley saying that I failed my job to keep you away from Brynn, and I might not get slutty wedding sex tonight.”
Ben lets out a deep laugh behind him, and I arch my brow in question. We all know that is just an empty threat. Those two are just as hot for each other now as they were when they got together.
“Well, that’s not a risk I’m willing to take, man. Let’s go.”
Asher wraps his arm around my shoulders and ushers me back to the room, where we wait for a little longer until the minister calls us, alerting us that they’re ready for us.
We chose to have a relatively small wedding with only a handful of family and friends in attendance. Brynn and I had sent an invitation to my father and stepmother; however, it was returned with thewill not attendbox selected. We haven’t spoken since the night I walked out of his house, and it doesn’t keep me up at night. Honestly, I didn’t want to waste the postage, but Brynn wanted to send the invitation to rub it in his face—that we didn’t need him to find happiness. I think I fell even more in love with her the moment she suggested adding a few of the images from our engagement shoot, too.Who was I to tell her no?
Family isn’t always blood; they are the people we surround ourselves with. Maybe that’s what brought us all together, looking for a family and finding it in each other. I would have been happy to marry Brynn in the living room of our apartment, just the two of us, but I wanted to give her the wedding she had been dreaming of since we were little.
I take my place at the front of the altar, with Ben and Asher by my side. I glance back at the guys to see both of them beaming as they watch their wives begin their walk down the aisle—yup, that’s right, wives.
Six months ago, Asher finally proposed to Hadley and convinced her to elope while we were on vacation together in Punta Cana. Hadley had wanted something simpler since both of their families consisted of just us. Asher’s parents and Hadley’s grandmother all had passed many years ago.
The most memorable part of the wedding wasn’t the picturesque backdrop of the beach at sunset but little Miss Olivia stealing the show. She wouldn’t stop crying no matter who held herexceptfor her daddy, and poor Asher had to hold her through half of the ceremony. Hadley and Asher were just beginning to potty train, and Olivia ended up having an accident and peed down the front of Asher’s dress shirt as the minister said, “You may now kiss the bride.” It made for some great photos and epic memories. While it didn’t stop the ceremony, it did delay the reception. Hadley had escorted Asher back to their suite to change and definitely returned a little while later with the freshly fucked look. And that is why as Hadley takes her place directly across from us, she rests her bouquet on her newly popped baby bump.
Speaking of Baby Harringtons, Ben and Lexi gave birth to a seven-pound twelve-ounce baby boy, Kellan Beckett, who is sleeping in Zoe’s arms in the front row across from us.
The doors close once the girls take their place, and the music shifts. When the doors open again, Brynn will finally be walking toward me, toward our forever. Nothing or no one could have prepared me for that moment. My heart skips a beat, and tears instantly fill my eyes when the doors open. There she is, my best friend.
When she said yes to the dress, she refused to show me a photo but gave me a description that I had no idea what it meant, and I wasn’t allowed to google it. It’s even more beautiful than I imagined. Her dress is a vintage-inspired ivory A-line dress with a lace overlay with Swarovski crystals and beading that adds a hint of elegance to this. Of course, I think she would look amazing dressed in a potato sack, but I was told this dress looked better in photos.
Her hair is darker than it’s been and brushed to the side with loose curls. I can’t wait to run my fingers through them later, not worrying about messing up her hairstyle once I have her alone in our hotel room. She takes my breath away. I never remove my eyes once from her as she makes her way toward me. This woman captured my heart long ago, and now she’s about to capture my last name—Brynn Murphy, two words that were always meant to be together.
The day has been perfect so far. The forecast had called for rain all week. However, the sun was shining this morning and hasn’t stopped since. I wonder if my mom pulled some strings with Mother Nature for us.
