“This place is so beautiful,” Selena says as she explores the kitchen.

“The bedrooms and bathrooms are this way,” Caitlin says, leading the way down the hallway. She opens the doors to two spacious bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a primary bedroom with an en suite bathroom. Each room is fully furnished. One is a child’s room with two twin beds in unisex green and yellow colors.

“You can change out anything and even paint the rooms if you prefer a different look. We’ll supply whatever you need to make this your home,” Caitlin and Kingsley explain. “We’ll get you a bassinet, a changing table, and a baby monitor. We have supplies of diapers, baby formula, and baby wipes. We even have clothes for everyone. Each apartment has security. Let me show it to you.”

“Thank you so much for helping us,” Selena says. “I feel like I can finally relax. It will be fun helping Angelica with the baby and watching my little girl play with the other children.”

A knock on the door, followed by a call of hello, has us moving back into the living area. Dr. Tally Chambers enters carrying a medical bag. “I need to check on Angelica and little Americo.”

I leave Crossroads knowing the four of them are in good hands.

CHAPTER ELEVEN: RANCH

Deion and I watch as our club brothers exit the parking lot. Izzy sends me a text letting me know Selena and Santina are safely ensconced in Crossroads. Our visitors follow our brothers out within seconds. When Killian pulls into the parking lot, we head downstairs.

“Did they make it?” Killian asks.

“Yep, Selena and Santina are safe inside Crossroads,” I tell them.

“Thanks, man,” Deion says, holding out his hand. I shake it before turning to Killian and holding out my hand. He doesn’t take it. Instead, he gives me the hard eye.

“I don’t want you dating my sister,” Killian says. “She deserves someone who will treat her right.”

I sigh as I drop my hand. “Look, Killian, let’s not ruin a good day. I met your sister for the first time this morning. We’re working together because she wants to use my ranch for therapy outings. I think she has a good idea, and I think it’s fucking great if she uses my ranch.”

“That’s all it is?”

“In all honesty? No. I think she’s the most gorgeous woman I’ve ever met. She’s intelligent, resourceful, brave, and caring.She reminds me of the women my brothers have found. I want to get to know her. I want to take her out to dinner and spend time with her. That’s all for now. It will be all until I know she wants something more.”

“You want something more?”

“I’d be a fool not to, but only if she wants more. I respect your sister. You’ll need to be satisfied with that for now.”

I can tell Killian isn’t happy, but he nods. A much-needed distraction comes when my phone buzzes. Smoke’s name is on the display.

“Tell me you have them,” I say when I answer the call on speaker.

“The tracker worked perfectly. We have their location, and I’m hacking into their security.”

Deion and Killian look at me and mouth ‘tracker.’

“Ghost slid under our ‘friends’ car and attached a tracker. Smoke is tracking them. Where are they?” I ask Smoke.

“San Ysidro. Looks like they’ve commandeered a motel. Casa De Los Robles. Off of 5. I checked the business license, and the place stopped operating as a hotel a year ago.”

“Let me know when you’ve hacked into the security system. I’ve got a name you can check out. Carlos Roma.”

“Will do.” Smoke ends the call.

“Smoke will get eyes on them. If he can’t break into their security, he’ll get cameras on the building.”

“Good,” Deion says, checking his watch. “I need to get over to Master Yan’s.”

I frown at him. “Wei Yan? Ghost’s uncle?”

Deion grins at me. “We’re friends. I help out at the dojo. He teaches a self-defense course for women, and he talked me into being the lucky guy they beat the shit out of every lesson.”

“You’re fucking kidding me?” I ask with a laugh.
