“TRUTH OR DARE”

Idon’t know if I want to kiss or kill my best friend for leaving me alone in a hot tub with a half-naked Katarina. She pulled her long, blonde hair haphazardly up into a bun, with small pieces falling out every which way, before she got into the hot tub, and I’ve never fixated on a person’s neck so much in my life. It’s kind of sick the way I can’t stop thinking of how many places I could kiss her there. The smile on her face, as she laughs at Bodine howling through the field, is so carefree it reminds me of the reason we even came on this trip. Making all the tension I’ve been suffering through, worth it. Then she turns to me, with fire in her eyes, as she takes another drink. I can tell she’s had way too much tonight, but it’s not my place to cut her off. Especially since we won’t be leaving the house and she’s perfectly safe here.

“Truth or dare, Ace?”

I clear my throat, ensuring my voice remains steady. “Truth.”

“Tell me the truth about the first time you saw my photography.”

Game on, Little Reaper.

“I went through your camera.” Her mouth pops open dramatically as her cheeks reddened, and even though we’resitting in a hot tub in the middle of summer, I don’t think either of those things have anything to do with why.

“How dare you!” she gasps dramatically. “When?” I smirk at her, running my fingers through my hair to wet it.

“I think you know when.” I watch her throat work when she swallows, but the playfulness is still in her eyes. I’ve never seen Katarina drunk before, it’s fascinating.

“How many of them did you look at?” I wait until her eyes meet mine, holding her gaze when I answer.

“All of them.” Her lips separate, just barely, then she seals them again. “Truth or dare, Reaper?”

“Truth.”

“Is it true you and Bodine used to date?” She practically chokes on her drink.

“What?! No!” she sets her empty cup down and turns to face me again. “Did he say that we did?”

“Did you two ever sleep together?”

She stands up, rather unbalanced, adjusting the string on her thong. “I’m going to kill him.” I grab her arm and pull her back down, making her sit on my knee.

“Answer the question, Katarina.” All I can smell is the rum on her breath when she answers and my mind goes straight to wondering how it would taste coming off her tongue.

“No. We never dated. We never slept together, and I’m pissed off that he would say we ever did. He knows…” She trails off, shaking her head as I see her eyes begin to water. Realizing I struck a much deeper nerve than I imagined I would, I quickly correct things.

“He didn’t.”

Her face twists in hurt and confusion. “What?”

“He didn’t say you dated, or that you slept together.”

“Then why?—”

“I wanted to hear it from you.” She slides further up my leg, her bare ass now sitting on my thigh.

“Ugh! Ace. I almost went and punched him in the nuts.”

I smirk when she splashes water on me with her fingers. “Your turn.”

I grip her thighs to move her back to her seat, but my jaw clenches tight when instead, she places her legs on either side of my hips. I clench my jaw, gripping her thighs to move her.

“Truth or dare?” Her arms hang lazily over my shoulders, but her fingers comb through my hair. My eyes fall shut as I tell myself to ignore how good this feels. To fight the urge to pull her closer, to feel her pressed against me.

My eyes open, still heavy with desire from thoughts of her. “Dare.”

Please for the love of God dare me to go find the guys and get me out of here.

“I dare you to kiss me.”
