Caleb: Lina didn’t mean a thing to Mitch.
Hunter: You his little lap dog now?
Caleb: Wake up, dude. She wasn’t the first.
I hate that Liv nailed it.
Hunter: How many?
Caleb: Does it matter? He loves Olivia and they deserve the chance to make things work.
Hunter: How many?
Caleb: Don’t think anyone was counting. We’d go out, he’d pick up.
Hunter: How did I not know?
Caleb: No one was going to tell you. No one could trust you.
Caleb: You’re not part of his party group
I thought we were as close as brothers. Obviously not. I move to the next thread.
Lina: Olivia isn’t talking to me.
Hunter: Do you blame her?
Lina: It only happened once. It didn’t mean a thing. She’s my best friend.
My reply was part guess and part instinct.
Hunter: That’s not what others have said. Seems the bride was the last to know, and she’s redefined what she is looking for in a best friend.
Lina: Okay. But it just happened and we couldn’t help ourselves. Mitch was getting it out of his system, you know how he is. I wasn’t the first.
Hunter: But you were the last—at least while he was with Olivia.
Lina: Please get her to call me. I need to talk to her and explain.
I think Olivia intends to have that conversation in person. I chuckle, leaving the thread open which will mess with Lina’s head, before the next thread wipes away the smile.
Mitch: Hey asshole, enjoying my honeymoon with my wife?
Hunter: Weather is fantastic. Can’t wait to go glass-bottom kayaking.
Mitch: With my wife.
Hunter: I must have missed the ceremony.
Mitch: I love her.
He ignored my threats to keep away and I can’t believe he’s pulling this shit.
Hunter: So I heard. Seems you’ve had a lot of love to share around.
Mitch: They don’t mean a thing. Olivia is the only one I love.
Hunter: How many? She deserves to know the truth.
