“I’m disappointed she abandoned thethriving essential oils businessI helped her to build from the ground up. But that’s not why I’m—”

“Ruth, okay, enough. I’m not interested in hearing any more.”

All these alternative lifestyles (extreme self-care, essential oils…whatever Florence has going on) feel like grown-ups playing pretend, like how we used to make potions out of grass and flowers and rainwater in the backyard as kids. Which is fine, I guess, if you’re having fun. Other women can do what they want. But being caught in the middle of some MLM turf war between a cancer survivor and a PTA soldier, when I just want to shut this whole day off and try again tomorrow, is decidedly not fun.

Ruth looks like she’s gearing up for another round of Bethany bashing, but inside my car, Pearl knocks on the window and taps the imaginary watch on her wrist.

“It’s close to my bedtime!”

Saved by the almost-eight-year-old. I’m going to let her have a second dessert tonight.

“Okay, well, I better—”

“Just one more thing. We actually have an exclusive special going on at Agape right now for brand-new consultants. Somany people think it’s not their thing, but Mavis, I really think you have the potential to open up a whole new market for—”

I speedily slip into my car, barely cracking open the door, like I’m fleeing from the zombie apocalypse. It’s only as I’m driving away that I realize I left the recycled paper, probably biodegradable, business card abandoned on the street.

Hello Troop 1207 Moms!

We had such a fun meeting learning about the migratory patterns of monarch butterflies and building our beautiful butterfly habitats! Thank you to Claudia, Suzanne, and Ruth for the donations to our butterfly homes! The mini diffusers were ADORABLE

Cookie season is fast approaching! I hope you’re as excited as I am!! Please take a moment to complete the survey for our parent cookie meeting if you haven’t already.Of course, like all things in Clover Scouts, this venture will be entirely girl-led, and they will determine our troop selling goals and plans for our earnings at our cookie kick-off meeting next month! But we find it’s extremely helpful to come to a consensus between moms at this pre-kick-off meeting so we can guide them in the right direction!!

And I have just a few friendly reminders for you:

Claire is SO GENEROUS to allow us to use her BEAUTIFUL home, and we want to make sure that we’re showing her our gratitude and respect AT ALL TIMES! Thank you in advance for keeping her lawn and her neighborhood litter free!!

We appreciate your volunteer work SO MUCH!! We really have THE BEST moms in Troop 1207! We know it can be difficult to decide where your talents would be most useful, especially if you’re new to Clover Scouts, so please reach out if you need help deciding what to volunteer for—or what your husband should do if he’s on babysitting duty for the night, LOL! We want to make sure you’re given a job where you can be the most successful, so everyone gets a chance to shine(And please make sure to select at least two volunteer slots on our Sign-Up Genius if you haven’t already. Many hands make light work!!)

Note: If your Insect Helper badge wasn’t secured properly, please feel free to bring it to my house this week, and I can help you fix it! I am very busy prepping for cookie season and making costumes for the 4th grade choir concert, but I can always make time for something this important!!

Warmly,

Christine Fountaine

Hey mamas!

Can I just be vulnerable with you for a second? This mama life is hard work!!

I truly believe that each of our littles has a unique gift to share with the world, and it’s our job to foster those gifts and help to share them with the world! But what do you do when the other adults in their lives, the ones you entrust with their fragile spirits, don’t treasure those gifts?

I’ve shared on here before what a wonderful school psychologist we have at Axel’s school, but unfortunately not every staff member shares his loving-kindness and commitment to recognizing all that Axel has to offer the world. How do I keep my little’s light shining when others are just determined to blow it out? Comment a below if you can relate!
