“True.”

Brody poked his head in the door. “I’m back.” His gaze fell on Scott. “Hey, Mr. Taffet, how are things?”

“Amazing. I heard you guys are having a five-year anniversary party.”

He nodded. “We sure are. It’s an accomplishment and it needs to be celebrated.”

I grimaced. “That’s what everyone keeps telling me.”

Brody grinned. “We had to badger the boss to get him to do it. But it’s good for community relations too.”

“Scott said he might come.” I glanced at Scott. “Right?”

“Absolutely, I look forward to it,” Scott said, tipping his glass and gulping down his whiskey. “So, now that Brody is back, can we go look at that Mustang?”

“Sure.”

“Got your eye on another car, Mr. Taffet?” Brody asked.

“Always.” Scott smiled. “Money is no fun if it’s in the bank.”

“I’ll have to take your word for it.” Brody shrugged. “Money and me part ways way too easily.”

Scott eyed Brody, a gleam in his eye. “We should have drinks sometime. I could show you a few tricks for making it multiply.”

Brody smiled. “Uh, sure.”

I’d always suspected Scott thought Brody was hot, but he’d never made any move on him before. He knew Brody was straight, right? Did he consider that a challenge or something? God only knew with Scott.

“You’re bringing your purple-eyed ginger to the anniversary party, right?” I asked Scott, pointedly. The last thing I wanted was for him to start hitting on my guys. It was hard enough wrangling Scott now.

Scott nodded. “If I end up coming, I’ll try to coerce him.”

Brody gave a confused laugh. “Purple what now?”

“It’s a long story.” I smiled at Brody. “Thanks for letting me know you’re back.”

“You bet.” Brody closed the door.

Scott stared at the door. “Damn, he gets sexier every time I see him.”

“Scott, Brody is straight. Leave him alone.” I shook my head. “You aren’t serious about giving him financial advice, right? You just want to get in his pants.”

Avoiding my gaze, Scott laughed. “Please, I don’t chase straight guys.”

“Okay, just making sure.”

“I ran into him last Saturday night though, at that club Genesis. We had fun together.”

I frowned. “What kind of fun?”

He smirked. “Not that kind. Unfortunately. He was too consumed with trying to bed some blonde girl.” Scott sighed. “He doesn’t know what he’s missing.”

“I think he does. I’ve known Brody since I took over this place. He’s never shown a bit of interest toward guys.”

Scott narrowed his eyes. “Are you jealous? Do you want me all to yourself?”

I laughed. “No.”
