He felt the bed dip as Seth came around him, but opened them in surprise when Seth slid off to kneel in front of him. Seth took Jesse’s face in his hands. “For starters never ever call our gorgeous little boy someone else’s baby. Maddox is ours and always will be.”

Jesse blinked, but couldn’t quite stop the tear trickling free which Seth promptly thumbed away.

“Secondly,” Seth said and took a deep breath. “You saw me talking to Max because he had the results of my test.”

Jesse gasped. “Test? What is it? What’s wrong?” Panic clutched his chest hard.

“Nothing…exactly.”

“Exactly.”

“You’re going to think it was stupid.”

“I’m going to scream if you don’t tell me and Maddox will wake up.” Seth chuckled weakly at the threat.

“I asked if they would check my sperm. Like Zeke’s? To see if I could get you pregnant.” He huffed. “I can’t.”

If Seth had promptly shifted into a lion Jesse couldn’t have been more dumbstruck. “You mean the reason Zeke got Darriel pregnant. He has enough shifter in him to get Darriel pregnant but not enough to shift?”

Seth nodded. “I know we talked about a brother or sister for William and it seems like everyone up there at the rescue compound is pregnant and I couldn’t stand the thought of someone else—”

“Whoah,” Jesse immediately stopped him. “I’m not sure where your mind was going, but I always assumed when we were ready we’d adopt one of the many kids Ryker seems to rescue on a fairly regular basis.”

“Really?” Seth said hopefully and a lightbulb went off in Jesse’s brain.

“Except even if you had the gene you couldn’t impregnate me unless we changed positions.” Seth went cherry red. “And,” Jesse added knowing he was right. “You don’t like the idea at all so you were trying to push yourself into doing it. You were ashamed because you didn’t want to and you were hoping I’dtake the decision from you by just saying no.” He took a huge relieved breath. “I ought to spank your ass for that.”

Seth gaped. “Since when?” But Jesse just arched a brow and nodded to Seth’s cock clearly showing he was protesting just a little bit too much.

Then he had another thought and groaned. “This is why you’ve been torturing us all with your diet.”

Seth had the grace to redden. “I wanted my body to be in the best shape if it was going to happen.”

Jesse smiled wickedly. “Super sperm, huh?” He asked and levered Seth to his feet and capturing his lips with his own before Seth had a chance to express any more ass-like opinions.

He broke off and nuzzled Seth’s soft beard and snuggled happily as he laid him back down on the bed then gazed up at the love of his life.

“Let’s be clear. You are the best thing that has ever happened to me. I love you more every day even when you torture me with counting calories. I adore your body, every gorgeous inch of it. We will have beautiful babies because they will be happy and loved, not because they might have a few freckles on their nose and sexy chocolate eyes.” He kissed the freckles. “I can’t wait to find another child for our family whether that’s human, shifter or space alien.”

Seth grinned then shuffled a little so Jesse could see exactly how interested he was in all the plans.

“Maybe I should go all alpha on you,” Seth teased after a moment.

Jesse grinned. “Go all alpha on me?”

“Uh huh,” Seth said and closed his eyes. I can order you to suck my dick and—” The rest of Seth’s words expired on a squeak as Jesse demonstrated how really good he was at following his alpha’s directions.
