The baby alpaca hid itself under the bridal party’s table, but Justin was able to lure the poor thing out with some bread rolls.

He picked the animal up and walked to the wooden dance floor. Then he spoke into the microphone, causing everyone to cringe because of the feedback.

“Sorry about that,” he said, taking a step back.

By now, people had gotten their phones out and were filming every move he made.

“Sorry about the broken glass and everything. I’ll make sure to fix this, but first I need to fix something else,” he said. “Addy, would you please join me?”

I reluctantly made my way to the dance floor.

“Why are you dressed like Kermit the Frog?” I asked, half-laughing.

He grinned. “I thought it would be cool for the theme to be consistent.”

“What theme?”

“All will be revealed shortly. But first you have to promise me you won’t run away and go hide in a pantry.”

I smiled. “Okay.”

“Addy,” he said, and I swear everyone held their breath for what was coming next. “These last couple of days have been extremely hard on me. When we shared that tantalizing kiss last week, I was over the moon. But then it all got taken away from me. All because of Crocodile Man.”

“Yeah, well. Life’s tough,” I said, the painful memory making me tear up.

The baby alpaca in his arms tried to break free. One of Asher’s cousins rushed toward us and took the animal from him.

Justin took a deep breath and grabbed both my hands. “That’s true, but life without you is even tougher. I told my agent that I would only do this movie if they delete the clause about not dating anyone from the contract.”

“And?” I asked, hope fluttering in my heart.

“And I’m not going to sit around and wait for their answer. I want to be with you, Addy. I’m head over heels for you.”

“You are?”

He beamed at me and squeezed my hands. “I am, and I want to make your dreams come true.”

“Why me, when you could have anyone?”

He laughed. “Oh, Addy, because you’re you. You’re nothing like those women chasing me for the money and the fame. I feel safe with you. And I want you to feel safe with me. I adore you. That’s why I got you a surprise.”

“Right, your mysterious surprise,” I said. “The one you posted about on Instagram?”

He nodded. “Last week, when I was at Sip’nBean, I overheard Mr. Benson talking about an offer he had gotten on the patch of land you wanted. I knew how much it meant to you, so I approached him afterward and made him an offer he couldn’t refuse.”

I gasped. “You did what now?”

He chuckled. “I bought the land for you, Addy. And this baby alpaca,” he said, gesturing to the cute little animal, “is yours to keep as well. Consider it the first of many baby animals to come. I thought we could name the furry cutie Kermit. What do you think?”

Tears streamed down my face, most likely smudging my impeccable makeup, but I couldn’t care less. Justin had made my dreams come true. All of them.

“Are you sure you want to know what I think?” I asked with a smile. Then I took the microphone from him and switched it off. This was something I needed to say to him without the message being broadcast to all of the wedding guests.

“Of course I do.”

I put my arms around his neck and our noses touched. Justin let his hands rest on the small of my back, and let out a soft sigh.

“I think I love you, Justin. No, I don’t think,” I said, shaking my head. “IknowI do. I love you as Kermit the Frog, as Crocodile Man, but first and foremost, I love you for being Justin Miller.”
