It was deli meat from a box, but it was savory and still so good. “Mmm.”
“If I didn’t know better, I would be offended that deli meat and my meat both elicit the same sounds from you,” Storm said dryly, his fingertips brushing against Linus’ lips.
Linus flushed. Storm grinned.
“Dinner will be ready soon,” Storm said.
It was all good food. Linus leaned against the table as he shoved the fluffy mashed potatoes into his mouth, barely tasting them before he swallowed. “It’s delicious.”
“You’re inhaling it all.” Storm looked amused. He, too, had been wolfing down his food. “So, about tonight...”
“What about tonight?”
“I can sleep on the couch,” Storm said uneasily, setting his fork down.
Linus frowned. “I meant what I said, you know. You can share my bed.”
Storm froze. “You really, truly don’t mind? That I’m a weird stalker?”
“I feel safer with you around.” Linus shrugged.
Storm broke into a bright, relieved smile. “I can’t wait to go to bed with you.”
To tell the truth, Linus couldn’t wait, either.
They finished dinner together, Storm doing the dishes even though Linus tried to squeeze between him and the sink.
“Let me,” Linus growled. “You’ve been doing all the work!”
Storm grasped Linus’ hips and turned him in the direction of the bedroom. “Get ready for bed. I want you ready for me when I get there.”
Linus sucked in a sharp breath, tingles rushing through his body. “Oh.”
Storm grinned. “Yeah. Oh.”
Linus got ready for bed in record time. He slipped under the covers and held his breath, his heart thumping.
Why am I this nervous? It’s just Storm.
It wasn’t just Storm, though.
This was a man who wanted to beLinus’ alpha. And he wasnice.
That was so rare, it was a miracle.
The sounds from the kitchen tapered off. Storm headed into the hallway bathroom first. Then he stepped into the bedroom, his gaze homing in on Linus.
“Hey there, hot stuff.” Storm smiled and pulled back the covers, slipping into bed. He did this all slowly, carefully, watching Linus for his reaction.
Linus blushed. “Is that my new nickname?”
“Well, I prefer ‘sweetheart’, but youareextremely hot.” Storm scooted closer, sliding his arm around Linus’ waist.
They were so close now, almost nose to nose. Sure, they had fucked earlier. Sure, Storm had dropped kisses on him. But this was intimacy on a whole new level.
Storm didn’t look away. And neither did Linus.
“Mine,” Storm whispered, brushing his fingers through Linus’ hair. He dragged his wrist down Linus’ neck, along his shoulder and down his chest, leaving a distinct cedar scent all over Linus’ body.
