“That’s for you,” Storm said.

Then he closed his laptop and tucked it under his arm. With that same arm, he grabbed his sandwichandhis own mug of tea. With his other hand, he picked up the motorcycle helmet by the door.

He gave Linus a smile. Then he slipped out of the apartment, and the door closed with a thump.

This left Linus completely alone.

Linus stared, his nightmare forgotten.

How the hell had Storm managed to get in here? Had Linus not locked his door properlyagain?

And why didn’t Storm’s presence make him panic, even though Storm wasn’t supposed to be here at all?

Storm stopped showing up to Linus’classes.

Linus stepped into every class expecting a tattooed alpha in the back row, typing away on his laptop.

To his growing unease, Storm was nowhere to be found.

Had he offended Storm somehow, by bumping into the alpha in his dining room? That didn’t seem likely.

Had Storm been missing all of Linus’ classes before today?

Linus hated that he couldn’t remember. The cough meds had made his thoughts foggy; it was only today that he could think clearly again.

He’s not supposed to be here, right?

And a tiny voice in his mind replied,Surely he hasn’t gotten into an accident.

His stomach clenched. Linus wrung his hands. The thought of Storm hurt... That made him more nervous than he expected. Just that he had no way of knowing for sure.

He stared blankly at his computer screen, trying to think of a solution.

His email pinged when a new message came in.

CagedDragon:I’ve been struggling with a new bug lately. It’s been sucking up all my free time and I can’t seem to squash it. Great video you posted, though. Thanks for everything that you do.

Linus cracked a smile. He couldn’t help remembering Dragon’s comment from the other day—when Dragon had removed his words about Linus resting, but Linus couldn’t figure out why.

He looked down at his phone and got an idea.

He didn’t show up to class and I’m worried.
