With a curse, Storm came, pleasure crashing through him in a blinding wave.
When he could think again, he found his arms wrapped snugly around his omega, Linus lounging drowsily against his chest
“I love you,” Linus said suddenly, turning to look him in the eye.
Storm’s heart grew wings. “I know.”
Linus laughed. “No movie references!”
“Alright.” Storm kissed his jaw, then his lips, cradling Linus in his arms. “Love you too, sweetheart. But you already knew that.”
“I did.” Linus snuggled with him. Then he tensed all over, a contraction rolling through him.
Storm rubbed his back. They lay together for a while, until another contraction hit Linus.
This time, Linus squirmed against him. “Storm?”
“Yeah?”
“I think my water broke.”
Storm was verythankful that he had learned to drive some months ago.
He and Linus had combined their resources to buy a car that would fit a child seat, and he had been practicing driving almost every day. Linus’ Jeep was mostly fixed by this point, not on the verge of breaking down anymore. For now, Cowgirl was still with them; she held great sentimental value for Linus.
Storm grabbed Linus’ overnight bag and helped him dress in some comfy clothes. He did a last-minute check on all the baby things they had prepared—crib, clothes, diapers, and so on. He checked that the stove was off, too. Then they made their way to the car, and to the hospital.
Linus looked up from his phone. “Our parents are going to start meal prep for the next week.”
“They could just give us their leftovers,” Storm said. Which they had already told their parents, but none of them wanted to hear it.
Storm’s family had moved to Meadowfall last month to be closer to the baby; it was amazing that they were less than half an hour away, now.
At the hospital, they got Linus checked into a room. Storm crowded close to his omega; Linus refused to stay on the bed, though. Instead, he waddled around the edges of the room.Storm accompanied him, afraid to leave him alone in case he somehow fell.
“I can do this,” Linus grumbled.
“I’m sticking with you anyway. That’s part of the marriage vows, you know. Through thick and thin.”
Linus blushed, his smile ever so amazing.
In the end, they made their way back to the bed so Linus could rest. Storm pulled off his shirt so they could have some skin-on-skin cuddling. Linus reached out before Storm could get behind him, though. These days, his fingers always found their way to Storm’s chest, carefully tracing the neat handwriting tattooed across Storm’s heart.
“I want this too,” Linus said.
“Your name on your chest?” Storm teased.
Linus rolled his eyes. “Yourname on my chest. Sometime after I stop nursing T, I guess.” He sighed. “That’s such a long time away.”
“I could write my name on you with henna,” Storm said lightly. He had been thinking about this a lot ever since he’d gotten the new tattoo. “It’s a temporary ink. That’ll mean I can draw anything anywhere on you, whenever I want.”
Linus’ gaze shot up to meet his. Breathlessly, “What do you mean?”
“It means I can write my name on places that don’t usually get tattoos,” Storm said slyly. He brushed his finger over Linus’ pulse point. “Like your throat.” He dipped his hand lower. “Like your belly.” And lower yet. “Or your cock.”
Linus’ face turned pink. “I would not be opposed to that.”
Storm grinned. “Good.”
