Their eyes met, and Caroline wasn’t sure whose were filled with a thicker curtain of happy tears.

Hunter hugged the spurs to his chest and put his hands on her waist. ‘Of course I’ll marry you. I’d have asked if I knew you were open to the possibility.’

She rested her forehead against his. ‘I know you would. But I wanted to do this.’

He tilted her chin up, pulling her in a kiss sealing the promise of the future they had both thought they wouldn’t get.

She truly believed that their love was going to be enough.
