I scoot further down Angel’s lap and slowly lift the hem of my skirt higher up my thighs. “You want them; come and get them.”
Niki’s grin turns wolfish as he wraps a hand around my foot, keeping it pressed to his chest. He drops to one knee and skates his fingers up the inside of my thigh. He doesn’t look away, just holds my stare with a ferocity that has my breaths quickening.
At the first touch of his fingers against my pussy, my nostrils flare wide.
Niki’s tongue darts across his bottom lip before sucking against his teeth. Almost like he’s restraining himself, holding himself back to savour the moment.
And I am here for it.
He slides a finger inside me and my hands clench around Angel’s thighs. I feel Niki hook his finger around a scrap of thefabric, and he starts to tug it free, every inch of it caressing the inside of me and sending ripples of desire deep into my core.
Niki finally pulls the material free, and he brings it to his nose, taking a deep inhale before tucking it into his trouser pocket.
“What the hell are you going to do with that?” I ask, my voice a little breathless.
He shrugs.“I don’t know. Maybe I’ll add my own cum to it.”
I waggle my eyebrows. “Can I watch?”
Niki breathes in sharply. “Absolutely.”
“So, now that’s out of the way, are you going to tell us why you snuck into my home office, Echo?” Max asks, drawing my attention back to him.
“You mean that mind-blowing sex wasn’t reason enough?” I say with mock offence as Niki places my foot gently back on the floor before sitting in the space between my feet. I run my fingers through his hair, enjoying the way he leans into my touch.
Angel’s laugh reverberates in his chest beneath my cheek, and it’s a warm sound that has my toes curling.
“I actually came with a proposition,” I say as I pull Bennie’s phone out of the pocket of my combat vest. I hold it out to Max, who eyes the sleek black phone warily.
“What is that?” he asks, all warmth of the previous few minutes disappearing.
“That, dear Max, would be a mobile phone.”
“I can see that,” he snaps. “If that’s what I think it is, how the hell did you get your hands on it?”
“I swapped it,” I say with a nonchalant shrug.
“What idiot swaps something of that value?” Angel asks, bewildered.
I look up and into his pretty eyes that are the colour of sapphires caught in the sun and pull out one of my calling cards. “I swapped it with one of these.”
A myriad of expressions flitter across his face, from confusion to worry to curiosity and finally resting on disbelief.
Max snatches the little card out of my hand and turns it over several times. “You know the Six Minute Killer?”
I snort. “Oh, Max. That’s precious.”
His brow furrows for a second before his eyes widen.
Niki taps my knee and pulls my attention to him. “You’rethe Six Minute Killer?”
“In the flesh.” I have to admit, I’m a little impressed I’ve managed to shock them. I do feel a little smug at that if I’m being honest. “Why? Do I look too pretty to be a serial killer?”
“It’s not that,” Max says, that frown descending again. “I just… well… it took me by surprise.”
I fold my arms across my chest defensively. “Because I’m a woman and therefore incapable of being nothing more than a prize to be won?”
Please don’t tell me I’ve walked away from one chauvinistic asshole and into the orbit of another. I couldn’t bear it. I’m worth more than that, and if they can’t see that, maybe I’m better off ending up an old maid and living life on my own. I wouldn’t trust my judgement of character ever again.
