"Then don't think about it." Sabrina smirks as she looks me in the eye, her long honey-blonde hair flowing past her shoulders. Her pineapple earrings shake back and forth, and she reminds me of a Hawaiian Tropic girl with her shimmering, glittery skin.

Do not look at her boobs, Wes.

"Trust me, I have no interest in thinking about you at all. I have my own plans for the evening, as you know."

"You just made those plans, right?" Erica rolls her eyes. "Sounds super promising if you were trying to have a business meeting with us tonight."

"Yeah, you were just trying to convince us to drop our dates." Sabrina gives me a look, and I notice that she's gotten light blonde highlights in her wispy, fine hair. "Was your date going to join us, as well?" She giggles as she shakes her head. "I'm sure she would have loved that. So romantic!"

"I wouldn't be shocked if that was his plan. Wes always puts business first." Erica joins in the giggling, and I decide to ignore them.

"I'm standing right here. No need to talk about me in the third person." I open the door wide and usher them out. "Have fun on your double-date. Seems promising," I lie. What maninvites a woman on a double date for a first date? I suspect that the date won't last long, but I know better than to say anything more to the two women. They will figure out soon enough what plan the two men have in mind.

"We will have a great time," Sabrina says, her head high. "You may be coming to a double wedding in a few months."

"Yeah, I'm sure that's a possibility," I say with a straight face, while attempting not to laugh. Why are college girls so delusional? "I think it's time for you both to have the time of your lives." I smirk. "Be that for five minutes or twenty seconds."

"Rude." Sabrina gasps as I place my hand on her lower back and push her forward and out of the door. Her body is warm, and I immediately remove my hand from her back. For some reason, the touch felt far too intimate. "I'll have you know that Rudolpho is an amazing man, and I'm sure the night will be filled with a sumptuous dinner, copious amounts of wine, and a midnight waltz under the stars." Her green eyes glare at me.

"It will be dreamy." Erica sighs in bliss, and it's my turn to roll my eyes.

"Delusional." I can't stop myself from laughing as Sabrina and Erica look at each other with giddy expressions. They’ve spent far too many years watching old Hollywood movies and reading romance books with Fabio-looking men on the covers. Neither of them are in touch with reality when it comes to dating, and I wonder when they will wake up. "Men aren't going to sweep you off your feet and make you feel like princesses."

"Just because you don't do that for women doesn't mean that no man will for us." Erica frowns as she stands there, playing with her hair. "And it's quite rude of you to push us out of your apartment. Wait until I tell Grandma."

"Grandma will understand, I'm sure. Especially considering I didn't invite you over in the first place." I know in my heart that Grandma will not be happy. In her eyes, family can do no wrong. And she considers Sabrina family, as well. They've been close since Erica and Sabrina were kids, but now that Sabrina also works at a retirement home, they are even closer. Even though I haven't seen Sabrina in over a year, I still know what is going on in her life because it seems that her job as activities coordinator means she does a lot of talking with the residents at the facility. And my grandma has no qualms sharing the tidbits she finds out with me.

"Whatever." Erica flips her hair and grabs Sabrina’s arm. "Let's go and have some fun while my brother lectures his inflatable toy."

"My what?"

"That's the only woman on this planet who can actually spend time with you and not be totally annoyed," she retorts back at me, in true annoying little sister fashion. Sometimes I feel like we're kids again. Even though both Erica and I are grown-ass adults, I sometimes feel like neither one of us has grown up. Especially Erica. Especially when we're with Miles. The two of them are obnoxiously immature. For a moment, I feel sentimental. I love my siblings, and I know my parents are happy that we all still have a close bond. I know that life will eventually take us in different directions, and we won’t always just be able to hang out like this.

“Have fun and be safe tonight.” I rub the top of her hair. “Let’s grab lunch tomorrow. I’ll see if Miles can join. You’re welcome, as well, Sabrina." She makes a face, and I wonder if she's still annoyed with me. Still hoping to avoid me. "Unless you have plans with your family or something?"

"Nope," she says quickly. "My mom is working, and Dad is still heaven knows where, doing heaven knows what." She shrugs and rubs her palms against her skirt, drawing my eyes once again to her long legs. My eyes move back up, and I keepthem moving quickly, as I don't want her thinking I'm checking out her peek-a-boo belly button or voluptuous breasts.

“So I can make a reservation for four?” I keep my tone light and try not to upset her. Her father has always been a sore spot in any conversation. He left her and her mother the day before she turned seven. He sent two birthday cards and one Christmas card, and then she never heard from him again. No presents, no calls, no showing up for school events, no taking her out. Nothing. I can still remember hearing my parents talk in hushed tones about what a horrible man he was and then doing everything they could to welcome her into our family, as her mother worked all the time and possibly had a bit of a breakdown. At the time, I didn't really appreciate how damaging that could be on a kid, and I’m still unsure how unscathed Sabrina is from the entire ordeal.

"If you must." She shrugs. "I may have other plans tomorrow, but if I don't, I’ll join.”

“No need to force yourself to be a part of my company.”

“Trust me, if it wasn’t for the potential sponsorship, I would not be there.” She sticks her chin out, and her eyes blaze into mine. So she's still angry, then. I know I have to let it go. There's no way we can have it out in front of Erica, who, I'm 99 percent positive, knows nothing because if she did, I'd already have gotten an earful of it from her.

"Well, I guess it's a good thing that I have money and you need it." I watch as she blushes at my comment. "I assume you think I should change my name to cash cow."

"No..." she mumbles. "I don't want you to think we're using you for the money." She plays with her fingers and makes a face. "I am happy for your success, and if you choose to invest in our business, it will be something I will be forever grateful for." Why is she so beautiful with her eyelashes lowered like that?

"Oh, come on, Sabrina." Erica groans. "He's just trying to make us feel bad. No fair, Wes. Stop being a jerk." She takes a step towards me, her brown eyes flashing. "Stop teasing and being rude. I'm sorry we came into your apartment without telling you. I should have asked." She pauses and grins. "I mean, I figured you wouldn't care. Next time, I won't make that mistake."

"There won't be a next time."

"Are you taking away my key?" She tilts her head to the side and then gives Sabrina a wicked grin. Sabrina smiles back at her, and then I feel her eyes on me, studying my face. I look at her, and she looks down slowly for a second before looking back up. Her eyes meet mine, and her lashes flicker for a few seconds. Her viridian green pupils dilate slightly, and we share a moment before she looks away. I want to tell her that she’s beautiful, even in her crazy getup, but I’m not going to. It would be inappropriate, and Erica would throw up and then slap me. Neither she nor Sabrina wants compliments from me.

“I’ll let you keep it for now.”

“Thanks.” She impulsively gives me a hug and then a kiss on the cheek. “Thanks, Wes. Have a good night."
