“So, tomboy ass Blessyn got a nigga and a baby. Word ‘round the hood is you was with Khi dick in the booty ass and had a baby with him. Let me guess, he dead ‘cause of you too. You gotta be a grimy bitch to get your baby daddy and son killed.”
“I’m a lotta of shit but I would never kill my fucking child. Now are you going to pull the trigger or check the bag? I see you driving in a rental and all but from the looks of you, you could really use that money and dope.”
He finally put his gun away and snatched the bag off of the roof of my car. I could see him thumbing through the cash. His nails were dirty, and his clothes were too. He wasn’t fooling me, and I wasn’t afraid for my life anymore when he stepped out ofthat truck. Joel was a fucking addicting. The scars on his arms told on him.
“All of this is mine? You not setting me up again?” He looked over at me.
“I never set you up. What do you think was going to happen to you if you robbed dope boys for a living?”
“You can deny this shit all you want but we both know what happened that night. Them niggas knew I was coming and how I was coming. Only one could’ve told them was you. We not going to discuss it. I believe this will settle the shit between us for now.”
“Joel ain’t no for now. Either this is it or handle your business. I don’t ever wanna hear ‘bout this shit again.”
“We are good. This shit set me straight for a good minute. Who the nigga you fuckin’ with got you riding so good?”
“You a jack boy. Fuck I look like telling you who I fuck with. Don’t put all that shit up your nose. It’s pure and it’ll kill you. Make sure to take your ass back where you were with that dope.”
Obviously, I didn’t beat Lucky home. I don’t know how I was going to hold on to my lie but I didn’t want him to know that I took from him to handle an issue that happened so long ago.
“Why didn’t you grab the baby if you were at your mama house?” He asked as soon as I walked in the door.
“I…I went to get some fresh air.”
“I’m not ‘bout to play with you so I’mma cut straight to the point. Did you take my dope out of the floor in the basement? Nobody is able to get in my house and no one knows where my shit at.”
“No.”
“You know if I find out that you’re lying, we can’t come back from this shit. If you into something you need to let me know so I can help. Stealing from me and my brother ain’t gon’ help you.”
“My dope is different, and it’s wrapped different than any other nigga’s. As soon as it hit the streets a muthafucka gon’ let me know. This your last chance to tell me the truth ‘bout the dope.”
“I don’t know what you talking about.”
“What about the money?”
“I’m not about to do this shit with you. You can leave and take that suspicious shit with you.”
“I do a lot around this muthafucka and everybody wanna lie, cheat, and steal from me. I’m doing shit to keep everyone out of jail and alive and nobody gives a fuck.”
Lucky leaned up against the wall and stared at me. I planned on going to my grave with this. If Lucky had any clue that I set niggas back in the day, he wouldn’t fuck with me anymore for sure. As long as Joel was happy and took his ass somewhere outside the city, I was good. I had too much stress right now between the shop getting burned down and Joel popping his ass up, I didn’t have time to have Lucky pissed with me too.
Joel and I were friends from school. He was the neighborhood jack boy that stole drugs, jewelry, and anything he could get his hands on. He would always get his hair cut and tell me stories about his experiences. The tragic night that he said I left him for dead did not go down like he thought it did. On a few of his jobs, he would use me for a quick decoy because dope boys were suckers for young girls. That night, I wasn’t a distraction. I had forgot all about his hit for that night and ended up walking to the store that night.
I’ll never forget coming out that store and telling the stranger to get down as I ducked behind a car. Joel was a one-man army and wasn’t expecting the dude to have so many shooters with him. One of them same niggas was Khi. I can see why Joel was pissed off with me but I didn’t switch sides with him. I knew thatone day my karma was going to come after me for even helping him a few times.
“You good? You acting a lil’ shaky.”
Yeah, I’m good.”
I was far from good. Shit was going so bad for me and all I can do is try to fix this shit from this point on. If I can take Lucky’s focus off the drugs, we’ll be fine. He wasn’t going to let the shit go though, because he was already on the phone with Perc telling him to let the streets know he shit was stolen. He didn’t know when to leave shit alone.
Imissed my flight, but I got on the next one going out to Calabasas. Nothing was stopping me from missing this trip. The nigga was really feeling me, and I wanted to see how far he was going to go before he stopped denying that he was feeling me. He had a driver come get me from the airport and drive me out to his house in the hills. On the way, I passed Kodak Black house and few more famous people.
“How was your flight?” He greeted me with a kiss.
Jaydee was a fine ass big nigga. When I was around him, you could smell the money and not only that, he was a boss.
“The flight was good. I’m sorry I’m late. My sister shop got burned down last night.”
