I let out a deep breath of relief. Finally, we’re on the same side. “Thanks dad, I’ll have Hendrix send everything over to Pauline for you right away. I’ve got to go make travel plans now, I’ll talk to you later.”
“Yes, of course. Oh! And, son?”
“Yeah?”
“Good job.”
“Thanks, dad.” We hang up and I stare at my phone, a frown on my face. I can’t remember if he’s ever said that to me before.
“Reece?” Hendrix calls from his computer.
“What is it? Did we lose it?”
“No, no, nothing’s wrong, I just had a question.”
I nod and make my way back over to him. I can’t believe after two months of searching, I’m finally going to find my brothers and bring them home.
I can’t fucking wait.
Chapter thirty-seven
Darla
Ilie back in the sand and close my eyes, enjoying the sun on my face.
“Zee! Don’t lie like that for too long, you’ll get burned!” Weston yells from his spot in the shade behind me.
“Yes, sir!” I call back, saluting the sky.
“Don’t make me come over there and spank you, brat.”
I gasp in mock horror, sitting up and turning to face him. “You take that back! I am not a brat!”
He just narrows his eyes on me, so I turn to look at Kingsley, sitting beside him. “Kingsley?” I ask with wide eyes, a small pout on my lips. “You don’t think I’m a brat, do you?”
“Fuck me,” Weston groans, running his hand down his face as Kingsley stares at me with wide eyes.
“I think you broke him, Tink,” Bower says, coming to drop down beside me.
I turn my eyes to him. “Do you think I’m a brat?”
“What’s wrong with being a brat?” he asks, tilting his head as he waits for my response.
“Brats are annoying and immature. I don’t want any of you to think of me like that I want to be…”
“Our good girl?” he asks, a smile tugging at the corner of his mouth.
I lick my own lips as I let that thought flow through me. Their good girl? Yeah, that’s exactly what I wanted them to call me.
I nod my head as my fingers play with my necklace. “How do I do that?”
“Do what?”
“Be your good girl?”
He drops his head back and groans. “Tink, you’re killing me with these questions today.”
“I… I don’t understand,” I tell him honestly, feeling like I’m missing something.
