Kneeling on top of him, Gideon tilted his head when their gazes connected.

“What are you doing?” Aleron grated out.

“Getting to know you? What better way to do that than when we’re both almost bare.”

What has gotten into him?Gideon had never been like this with him. He’d been bold, but other than their final intimate moment within Tenebris, he’d never been so forward.

Gideon even grabbed the sides of his snout, and... brushed the pads of his thumbs over his fangs.

“Your teeth are so sharp.” Then he tried to pry his mouth apart! “You don’t open your mouth much, so it took me a while to learn that your tongue is purple.”

Aleron’s tongue curled in apprehension as his head lifted, trying to escape him and the oddity of this.

“Can you feel with the bone of your skull, or does it lack sensation?”

Something soft and warmmouldedagainst the underside of his jaw, but he couldn’t see past his snout to determine what it was. All he knew... was that Gideon had ducked underneath it.

His heart stammered in his chest and became the only thing that moved as he froze, daring not to believe what was pressed against him.

“Can you feel that?” Gideon asked, as hot breath whispered against him and tickled in subtle waves.

Did he just... kiss me?Was it really lips he could feel against his skull?

Alarmingly, his orbs flared purple and remained. Aleron ducked his hand between them to clutch at his seam, worried he would extrude within an instant. His cock throbbed, swelling as blood rapidly filled it and caused him to pant in need.

“Yes,” Aleron grated, lifting his snout higher.

“Really?” His lips fluttered over the bone as he brushed them down the underside of Aleron’s jaw. “That’s good to know.”

Wetness flicked at the corner, a firm, caressing tongue, just as exploring palms slipped up his chest. Aleron’s muscles leapt at the foreign touch while a shudder coursed through him.

Aleron gripped Gideon’s narrow waist with one hand, unsure if it was to bring him closer or shove him away. The other tightened on his seam until claws bit through his flesh.

His smooth stomach pressed against the back of Aleron’s arm as Gideon shifted closer until their chests touched.

Frozen, growing dizzier with each time his bride’s lips gently caressed bone, Aleron melted under the foray. Then the male’s hands slid higher up Aleron’s chest, wound around his neck, and nails scraped his flesh as they dug into the feathers of his back.

“Gideon,”he rasped, his mind clouding and his body growing weak.

Why is this happening? His breaths grew horribly strangled.

Fingertips danced over the base of his wings to ghost up them, and they flapped against the ground before buckling.Fuuuck.

A gut clenching, groin quivering, seam twitching shudder ripped through him. Every fibre of fur, every feather, every bit of his flesh tingled. The inhuman parts of him ruffled and puffed, and he desperately wanted to let go of his groin so he could release the unbearable pressure that had shot behind it.

“Stop,” Aleron pleaded, feeling too dizzy, suddenly too hot. His pants were so deeply laced in need that he was moments from choking on them.

I cannot breathe.Aleron couldn’t think even with his limited humanity, not with this human lying on him like this. His warm breaths wrapped around Aleron’s mind as much as his sweet spring scent.

He was afraid of hurting Gideon, and worried that all this was... misunderstood on his part.He said getting to know me, as in exploring? He considered this torture then.

Gideon leaned back with a tight expression. An endless number of unspoken words were shared as his eyes shifted side to side, seeming to search his skull.

The male sighed and pushed off his chest to float backwards. “Fair enough. I just thought since your orbs had turned purple, you wanted me to touch you.”

Without thinking, Aleron snatched his wrist. Since he’d been looking away, Gideon brought his gaze back to him, and somehow his chest tightened further.

“You know what it means?” Aleron asked, wondering how that would be possible. He’d done everything to hide his desire for this male in worry of being rejected, or putting needless pressure on their shaky bond. “How?”
