He stepped back, putting space between them, with a nod. Faunus then changed his shape, reverting to the monstrous form where he stood on all fours.

To her surprise, he didn’t roam around the house. Faunus climbed the porch stairs, and she followed him so she could go inside. He laid down to curl up in the corner she’d woken him up in this morning.

“I am going to have a nap so I can be more alert for when night comes since someone so rudely woke me.”He tucked his head between his arms.“And then they didn’t even thank me for all the work they made me do.”

She bit the inside of her bottom lip.

I guess he really was tired after all.

Now she felt bad for making him work all day.

Mayumi still didn’t thank him. She wasn’t the kind of person to fold and give someone gratitude just because they manipulated her for it. She’d rather give it naturally, and if he had just waited, she would have.
