Terrible with words, she’d rather her actions speak for themselves.
“Just take me there?” she said while she was so close to him that her lips brushed over him as she spoke. “I forgot to get tea, and I want to ask a few people about something.”
“Hmm.”He cocked his head like he was thinking, yet his orbs had morphed from green to yellow from her kiss.“Only if you give me another.”
Her lips quirked with humour. “I can walk there myself.”
“Not if I don’t let you.”
“Are you going to put me in front of the mirror again if I try to?”
“I believe I do that already.”
He did. He was rather fond of forcing Mayumi to watch him take her, making sure she understood he was the one inside her.
Considering his size, tentacles, claws, and growling snarls, it was impossible to think of anyone else.
Even though she could go on forever with their playful banter, Mayumi wrapped her arms around his neck to lean in closer and placed her lips against his fangs again. The tension she’d been able to see the moment he’d landed in the clearing eased. She gave him another just to make him happy.
“Hop on then.”
He stepped backwards and lowered himself while turning so she could climb onto his back.
“We need to be quick,” she told him when he stood on all fours and started walking. “I decided to go there pretty late, and night will fall soon.”
“I can protect you on the way back, even if it is dark.”
“That’s not the point. The shops will close within an hour of nightfall.”
Once the shade was too long, humankind tried to hide within their homes if they could – even in the soldier-protected, wall-surrounded cities and towns.
“How fast do you want me to go?”
“As fast as you can.” She knew that was a loaded statement considering his kind were really freaking fast.
“I don’t think that is wise,”he refuted.
Mayumi kicked her heels in like she would with a horse while placing her torso flush against his body. She used her mostly empty satchel as a barrier between herself and his spikes, hoping they remained streamlined.
She gripped his fur tightly as she said, “Oh, just giddy up, you fucking scaredy cat.”
“I’m not a cat!” he bellowed, a flash of red illuminating in front of his face.
“It’s just a say-ING!” she screamed when Faunus suddenly burst into action.
If it wasn’t for the fact she could feel his strong body in motion beneath her, she would have thought they were flying with how fast they were going.
Every tree they passed was a whistling blur, and she was never given the opportunity to see a single one as they shot past. The air was unbearably cold, immediately cutting through her thick winter clothing to make her shiver.
Eventually, she just laid her face down to hide it from the freezing wind assaulting her poor face and tried to hold on. She could feel it when he stepped wider to avoid and duck around tree trunks or when he jumped over fallen ones.
After a few minutes of just feeling his glorious body moving while listening to his huffing, deep, reverberating breaths, she turned her head to the side to peek at the forest.
Everything was a disorientating smear of colours.
Despite her arms and legs being tired already, Mayumi’s face shifted into a massive grin. This is awesome.
Then, after what could have only been twenty minutes, if not less, he eventually slowed.
