“Don’t Leo me,” I snap. “I’m tired of this bullshit. Talk to me. What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.” She holds her hand out. “Give me my phone back.”
“No. Not until you tell me what’s up. I’m confused,” I say in a hushed tone, not wanting to draw attention to us. “We fucked, and now you refuse to talk to me. Was itthatbad?”
Oh God, do I hate saying those words. It wasn’t bad. She was fuckin’ screaming like a whore on my dick that night. I know for a fact she enjoyed it.
I stare at her, waiting, but that’s when I notice her eyes are glossier than before. Shit. Is she going to cry?
“Just give me my phone, Leo.”
The flight attendant comes around. “Can I help you?” Her arm on my shoulder confirms this will go my way. She’d been eyeing me since we boarded the plane.
“Are you shitting me?” Callie groans, rolling her eyes and then staring out the window.
“Excuse me?” The attendant balks. “Is there a problem?”
Oh, this is going to be good. I hope they get into a fight and maybe rip some clothes, show some titties. That’d be the best way to start a vacation in my opinion. I lean back in my seat and watch the two of them with amusement.
“Excuse yourself.” Callie snubs her. “Get him to give me back my phone.”
“Do I look like a mediator?” She laughs, smiling at me.
Wrong move, girl. My hand casually drags along the stubble of my jaw, watching the two of them.
“No.” Callie shifts in her seat, clutching her purse tighter. “You look like a flight attendant who’s not doing her job and looking to get fucked by a Chicago Blackhawks hockey player.”
Her eyes drop to mine. “That’s where I know you from.” She gleams, smiling wider.
I grin, but it isn’t out of affection for her. It’s more from amusement. I glance over at Mase to see if he’s paying attention, but all he’s doing is shaking his head.
“I’m not finished,” Callie snaps, glaring past me at the woman and ripping a bag of pretzels from the flight attendant’s hands. “Go ahead. Get his number. He won’t call you because you’re nothing new. He gets so much pussy on any given week that he doesn’t even have to try anymore. And I can tell by your personality already, you’re boring. Not worth it to him.” Callie then glares at me. “Now give me my goddamn phone,Leo.”
I can’t help myself and break out laughing. Completely turned on, I hand Callie her phone and wait for an explanation as to where that came from.
The flight attendant scrambles away, more than likely to cry. I feel bad about that for half a second. My attention is on Callie, flushed and staring at me. “What?”
“That washot,” I say when I can speak again. It’s a little hard to do so through my laughter.
Callie raises a questioning eyebrow at me. “Shut up.” She turns in her seat to face the window, trying to ignore me.
“You’re sexy.” I lean toward her, letting my stare drift south intentionally. “I miss you.”
She smiles, crossing her legs toward the window, but doesn’t say anything more.
Turning to Mase on the other side of the aisle, I give him a shake of my head as I mouth, “Wow,” and fan myself. He shakes his head, rolling his eyes at me.
Turning back to Callie, I don’t give up easily. “You know you want to talk to me.”
“What makes you say that?”
“Because any time you’re near me, you smile. Regardless if you’re mad at me, you find me adorable.”
Another eye roll. But do you see the smirk? It’s there. Barely, but there.
Callie is hard to judge sometimes. Just when you think you know her, she does and says something you’re not expecting. Sort of like not talking to me after the best sex ever.
That smile is her way of letting me know she wants to talk to me. She may not have known what to say or how to start, but that’s beside the point. I have four days with her. The universe was created in just seven, so they say, so I’m pretty confident in my abilities to get her moaning beneath me in half that time.
