She looked at me and screamed as another contraction hit. “Now?! Nigga, really?!”
But I kept going. “I know it's crazy… but you mine, and I’m yours. So will you marry me, Olivia? Be my wife? My forever? I promise when you are ready, I’ll give you the wedding of your dreams. I just need you to be my wife now.”
Her eyes flooded instantly. She nodded, breathless. “Yes, Bo… hell yes!”
The priest nodded. “Let’s make it official.”
I took her hand, kissed her knuckles, and tried to keep my shit together while the priest started speaking. “Boris, do you take Olivia, this strong, beautiful woman, to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“Forever and always,” I said without hesitation, eyes locked on hers.
“And Olivia, do you take Boris Anderson, this man who clearly can’t breathe without you, to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she whispered, “I already do.”
“By the power vested in me by God and the state of New York… I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may?—”
Olivia screamed, cutting him off. “OH MY GOD! HE’S COMING!”
The doctors and nurses jumped back in position. “All right, Mrs. Anderson! It’s time to push!”
I bent over, forehead pressed to hers, hands gripped together tightly. “You got this, baby. Push…”
She growled through her teeth, body trembling and heart full of fire. With one long, guttural cry, she gave everything she had. And then we heard it. That first cry—sharp, loud, and full of life.
A nurse held him up, and our baby boy was screaming like he owned the room.
“He’s here. You did it, baby. You did it. Thank you.” I kissed her forehead.
Olivia sobbed, pure joy on her face as they placed our son on her chest. I kissed her forehead again, still trying to catch my own breath, overwhelmed by everything that had just happened.
Husband. Wife. Parents. All in the same damn hour.
Olivia handed me my son. Boris Legend Anderson, and I swear, I was tearing up just holding his tiny body in my arms.
“Welcome to the world, little king,” I whispered, my hand on his tiny back. “You were born in love. I promise to protect you and your mother with everything in me.”
He squirmed in my arms, his tiny fingers curling around mine like he already knew who I was. I looked down at Olivia, and my heart swelled with pride. Love brought us here. Wild, complicated, and unshakable love. Now, we have a new legacy. A new reason to grow and to build.
This was our beginning. Our family. Our forever.
THE END!
