I moan again, louder this time. “Lane!”

“Are you feeling a tingling? Low in your abdomen and making its way down?” I open my mouth to reply, but no words come out, so I nod instead. “Do you know what that means?”

“N-no,” I sigh.

Lane starts rubbing his hand over my belly. “That means you’re close to climaxing. You’re about to have your first orgasm, Olive. And I can’t wait to watch you come undone.”

With his gentle encouragement as I fight for release, I finally reach my peak, tipping over for the first time in my life. I cry out his name, and once my climax ebbs out, I sink into the mattress.

“That…” I say, breathing still heavy. “Wow.”

“God, you’re so pretty. I could watch you come every day, Liv. You’re fucking perfect.”

I look at him with a lazy smile, satisfaction coursing through me. “Seems like I had a good teacher.”

Lane laughs heartily before pulling me closer with his arms wrapped around me. “I’m so fucking proud of you, Olive. You asked for what you wanted tonight, and you took ownership of your first orgasm. After everything you’ve been through, this is a huge milestone for you. You should be proud of yourself, too.”

“I am,” I smile.

And I really am.

Jake destroyed my innocence and left me broken, but I’ll put myself back together piece by piece.

And one day, I’ll be whole again, and his hold over me will have all but vanished.

Ican’trememberthelast time I went out for New Year’s Eve.

Well, I guess I neverreallyhave. I went to a “friend’s” house when I was sixteen and haven’t done anything since.

I’m only slightly nervous, though. I’m going to be with my friends.Realfriends. Friends that, even after only knowing for such a short time, I know they’d never victim-blame me.

But most excitedly, I’m going to be there with Lane. Now that Christmas has passed, we’ve been able to spend a lot of time together.

We’ve not gone farther than kissing again, but I will say I’ve put the lesson he gave me to good use on my own.

Still batting a thousand on that one.

Yes, I’ve looked up baseball terminology now. That can’t be a surprise to anyone but myself.

“What do you think of this color, Liv?” Ella asks, reminding me that the girls and I are getting ready together right now.

I study the shade of lipstick she’s holding up. “That’s pretty. It’s basically the exact shade of my dress.”

Harlow lights up. “Oh my God, you’re going to look so good in berry, Liv!”

“If we ask Lane,” Lucia teases, “I bet he’d say she looks good in anything.”

My cheeks flush. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure he would.”

“How is everything going between you two?” Rory questions, fanning her hair out over her shoulders.

I can’t help but smile. “Really well. We still aren’t giving ourselves a label, but we’re spending a lot of time together and having fun.” I cringe when I realize what that could imply. “Wait, not that kind of fun! Just… hanging out.”

Ella looks at me with a soft, sweet smile. She knows a bit more about me than the other girls, but she still knows far from everything. “Still just kissing?”
