“Oh God,” Aria says. “Sorry! I’ll just back out of here and pretend I never saw Evren’s hand under your dress.”
Aria starts backing away with a hand covering her eyes and she runs into the wall.
“Wrong way,” I say, chuckling.
Evren removes his hand from my dress, and I pout. He mouthslaterand chuckles at my expression.
“Well,” Aria says, “I hope that laugh wasn’t because you’re still fingering her because I’m trying not to scar my corneas any more than they already are. Sorry if my ability to make a graceful exit is ruined because I can’t see.”
“We’re decent,” I say. “You can look now.”
Aria slowly removes her hand, as if she doesn’t believe me. “Jesus, I’m surrounded by sex addicts. Can’t you all go a few hours without boning?”
“One day,” I say, “you’ll have sex so mind-blowing, you also won’t be able to wait a few hours. And when that happens, I’ll be sure to rub it in your face.”
“Suuuure.” She says it flippantly, but her tone is all off as if she doesn’t expect to ever experience something like that. “I’ll see you guys back outside.”
She spins around and speed-walks away.
“Is she okay?” Evren asks, brows knit in confusion.
“I don’t know. She’s going through something, but she refuses to talk about it. I’m a little worried.”
“She’ll tell you when she’s ready.”
“But I hate waiting.”
“I know.” He grins. “Come on, let’s go join the others.”
I grab the bag I dropped on the floor, and he immediately takes it from me, carrying it.
“What’s in this?” he asks.
“A surprise.”
He gives me a side-long look and I just grin in response and mime zipping my lips.
When we’re back on the dock, I grab the bag from Evren and open it.
“I really hope someone besides Evren likes to fish,” I say, “because I brought some collapsable rods and bait.”
Evren’s head whips toward me. “You brought fishing supplies to a wedding?”
“A wedding on a lake. Yes, I did. Because I’m brilliant.”
Evren gives me one of the warmest smiles I’ve ever seen. “I don’t deserve you.”
“Yes, you do,” Aria says. “Enough of that nonsense. You all are perfect for each other.”
I laugh and Evren steals a kiss, grabbing a rod and sorting through the bag and what I bought.
“I’ve never fished,” Hunter says, standing and heading to the bag. “But I’mdown to try.”
“I love fishing,” Jake says. “Grew up doing it on a lake near my home.”
“We should see this hometown of yours,” Elodie says to Jake. “And the farm.”
“Do you have animals?” Stella asks. “I love me some animals.”
