"Hi," Taylor said and Jordan nodded her head.
The vibes coming off Jordan were enough to tell me all I needed to know even if I didn't fully understand why.
"Where are you guys headed?" I asked.
"To the movies," Jordan answered stiffly.
The frostiness from Jordan made it clear there was no reason to prolong the awkward conversation. In her mind I was living up to my reputation.
"Well, it was nice seeing you again, Taylor," I murmured to her.
She gave me a nod and looked away. She linked her arm through Jordan's and I watched them walk away.
I wrestled with the need to assure her that I wasn't trying to hook up with Casey but that would be giving away more than I was prepared to acknowledge.
