He stripped his clothes away and I felt my breath hitch when I looked at his naked form. He was beautiful from the hard curves of his stomach to the lean muscles in his arms. My eyes ravished him. He knelt onto the bed and I lifted myself up to meet his lips with mine. His hand cupped the nape of my neck as our mouths moved together, caressing and nipping.

My heart was thumping rapidly in my chest as his body moved over mine. His hard muscles moved against my soft curves. His mouth slid against my neck and he gently nipped below my ear. I felt the fire inside of me burn out of control, and all I could do was hold on to the hope he would end it soon. I had to have him.

His soft touches and the gentle movement of his wet tongue against my skin made me quiver with want.

"I need you now," I whispered. He stopped and lifted his head. Our eyes met and I felt our attraction pull us closer together.

The warmth of his body covered me. His body fit perfectly against mine.

He studied me with an intense look that made me want to pull him closer to kiss him. His hardness nudged at me and I groaned as he slid into me in one hard thrust. My lips parted for a moment, feeling the fullness of his body's connection with mine. There were no thoughts, no fear. The only thing that mattered was the intense physical feeling of being thoroughly loved by him.

I savored every moment, every touch. Sweat covered our bodies as we moved together with one goal in mind: reaching the point we both craved. I gasped as I felt a wave of pleasure crash over me, making my whole body tense slightly and then tremble. Closing my eyes for a moment, I enjoyed the feel of my release.

Matthew held my hips in place with his hands and he pushed into me one last time. I groaned at the sensitive action. I felt him stiffen for a moment—and then he kissed me as he came.

Breathing hard, we stayed that way, his body pressed into mine as I wrapped my arms around him. Loving the feel of him covering me like a protective shield, I closed my eyes and let myself feel the intensity of my emotions.

It pushed the darkness inside of me away and I felt a peacefulness settle over me.

Then it struck me. I loved him. I wrapped my arms around him and held him for a moment at the realization of how much he meant to me.

He rolled off me and onto his back. His arms pulled me closer and I lay in them, enjoying the moment we'd just shared.

It wouldn't last forever, but I would enjoy it for as long as I could. I couldn't run from my fear and I would have to face it at some point. I looked at Matt and he pressed a kiss to my lips.

But I didn't have to face it alone. He was there to protect me as my bodyguard. His job was to make sure I was safe. His feelings me for me protected me emotionally, too. The fear didn't seem too bad when he was there to carry it with me.

For most ofthe night I couldn't sleep. Even in the safety of Matthew's arms and with his soothing deep breathing I couldn't seem to relax enough to nod off. I stared at the ceiling in the darkness, trying to calm my thoughts down. I needed to put my mind at ease long enough to get some much-needed sleep.

Finally, in the early morning, I fell into a troubled sleep.

I was standing outside one of my classes waiting for Matthew. It was strange because he was usually in every one of my classes. I looked up and saw him walking toward me.

He smiled as he walked, slowly coming closer to me. My heart filled with my love for him; I felt it lift me a little higher and make me happy. He was so hot and he was all mine. A smile that reflected my inner feelings spread across my face as I held my books to my chest.

Then suddenly the atmosphere changed, and the light started to darken. Matthew, just a few steps in front of me, stopped. Something nagged at the back of my mind, telling me something wasn't right.

Fear gripped me when I looked at him. In that same moment I heard a loud bang. Unsure of what the noise was, I looked around, not seeing anyone else but the two of us. My eyes shot back to Matthew.

Horror filled me at the sight of a dark crimson stain that marked his shirt. It continued to grow as he dropped to his knees. I ran to him. Dropping to my knees beside him, I laid him on the cold floor, not understanding what was happening.

"Please! Please!" I begged over and over again. My hand went to his wound to stop the bleeding but no matter what I did the blood flowed freely from his body into a pool of blood around us. I had to try and stop the bleeding—if I didn't he would bleed to death.

"Stay with me," I told him while I put both of my hands to his wound in the middle of his chest.

I looked up to see a tall, dark figure, who was faceless, holding a gun.

"That bullet was meant for you," the stranger said to me before he faded away into the darkness.

Scared and shocked, I held on to Matthew, begging him not to leave me. He took one shuddering breath—and then there was nothing. His eyes stared at me, unseeing.

"NO!" I screamed, not being able to cope with what I was seeing. I couldn't comprehend it. I threw myself across him and held him desperately as I screamed till my throat hurt. The tears began to slide down my face as I held him, not wanting to ever let go.

It couldn't be true. He couldn't be dead.

I shot up in the bed, breathing hard. It was dark and I looked around frantically, trying to get my bearings.

"It's okay, it was just a dream," a familiar voice said. Strong arms pulled me to a hard chest while my body trembled from the remnants of the nightmare I was still trying to process.
