“No, I snuck into the bathroom and called the cops. They arrested him for trespassing, but that wasn’t the last time I saw Pete. He showed up at my school, and my second graders were terrified by the man peeking into my classroom windows. I called security and the cops showed up and took him away again. I’m worried that he’s just going to keep following me and one of these times, things are going to escalate. He basically camps outside of my apartment, and I’m scared to even go home every evening.”
“Tell me how I can help,” he insisted.
“Can I stay with you until I can figure out what to do about him?” she asked. Sophia hated asking for such a big favor. “I know that this is a huge ask, but I’d be grateful and even find a way to pay you back. I won’t cramp your style. You won’t even know that I’m there,” she promised.
“No need to pay me back and I’m sure that I’ll love having you around. We can go back to your place and grab your stuff now,” he offered.
“No need,” she said, “I packed my stuff and put it in my trunk this morning. I decided that if you said no, I’d find someplace else to stay because I wasn’t going back home untilPete is behind bars for good. I’m just not sure how to make that happen.”
“You leave that to me. How about if you follow me back to my place, and we can sit down and figure out our next move?” Luca asked. She wasn’t sure why his offer had her feeling those same damn butterflies as she had when he pulled up today for their meeting, but they were fluttering around her stomach reminding her about her huge crush on Luca. Maybe staying with him was going to be more of a curse than help, but she had nowhere else to go. Sophia was just going to have to ignore those butterflies and act like an adult because she wasn’t that same seventeen-year-old girl anymore, and Luca was definitely not the boy she used to know. He had grown into one fine-ass man.

Do you like to binge-read? I’ve got just the box set for you! Smokey Bandits MC is coming out in a 6-book box set, and you won’t want to miss this one! Here’s a sneak peek at Aces Wild from book one! And—did I mention that the Smokey Bandits are a spin-off from my Huntsville Royal Bastards?
Ace
Repo walked into their little club’s bar and nodded over at him. Ace had only met the guy a handful of times, but he seemed like good people. “You called me in, Ace?” Repo asked. He had and Ace knew that today was going to be tough for the club’s new prospect, but clubs like the Smokey Bandits didn’t need to patch in a bunch of pussies. They needed men who were willing to do the job no matter how dirty or in this case—illegal.
“Yeah,” Ace said. “Thanks for coming in so fast, man. I have a little job for you.” He knew that as a prospect Repo wouldn’t be able to tell him no. Hell, any request, big or small, had to be carried out by the club’s prospects or they were out—no questions asked, and no second chances given. And Ace took great pleasure in making Repo squirm for his chance to prove himself.
When Savage called him and asked if he’d be willing to patch over one of Savage Hell’s members, he refused. Hell, he told Savage to go fuck himself, but then his old rival chuckled and reminded him that they were sister clubs, under the Royal Bastards, and that all he had to do was make a few calls andhave the Smokey Bandits put on probation for not following the charter rules they all pledged to live by. So, Ace agreed to Savage’s request with a few tweaks of his own. Namely—Repo could join the Bandits, but as a new prospect, he’d have to work his way up the chains just like everyone else. Savage bulked at the idea but when Repo agreed, the conversation was over. Ace had his new prospect, Repo had a way into the Bandits, and Savage left him the fuck alone.
Repo sat up at the bar and looked over at Ace. He knew better than to talk unless he was told to speak. Repo was following all the fucking rules and damn if that didn’t take away some of his fun. “So, you interested?” Ace questioned.
“You and I both know damn good and well that I won’t tell you no, Ace. So, what’s the gig?” Repo grumbled. Ace chuckled and shook his head at Repo’s dramatics. He was right though, telling Ace no would mean immediate removal from the Bandits.
“This isn’t going to be an easy job, man,” Ace said. “And I’m pretty sure that it’s not legal either.”
Repo groaned, “Fuck, man. Cat will have my balls if I end up in handcuffs. I’m the one who bails people out of jail, not the other way around.”
“I get it,” Ace lied. He didn’t understand the predicament Repo was in at all. His Ol’lady took off on him to get with another club member and took his daughter with her. It had been months since he heard from Charity or seen his kid and that fucking sucked. He honestly was done with Charity. The minute she let one of his guys touch her, she wasn’t a part of his life anymore. But he wanted to see his daughter. He wanted to be a part of her life but first, he was going to have to find where Charity and that fucker Rooster took her. As soon as his ex and her new fuck found out that he was on to them, they took off like the cowards they were, taking his little Arabella with them. His daughter was only six months old and the thought of hergrowing up without him in her life made him sick. She needed him and he needed her—that’s where Repo came in.
“You own a security company?” Ace asked.
“Yeah—I manage security for business firms and individual clients alike. I also track people down for their bail bonds.” Ace had heard about that last bit from Savage. Repo had gotten his woman out of a sticky situation and he and Cat were now relocating to his cabin in Gatlinburg from Alabama. If he was a betting man and Ace was, he’d bet that Repo had the know-how and skills to bring his baby home to him. Then, Charity and Rooster could decide to live or die—it was their call. He didn’t give a fuck either way. If they wanted to live, they’d walk away and leave him and Arabella the fuck alone. If not, Ace had no problem with killing them both for what they had done to him. Rooster was one of his oldest friends and taking his woman broke one of their codes. Hell, as far as Ace was concerned, it was the worst betrayal.
“I need you to track down my Ol’lady and daughter,” Ace ordered. Repo winced and Ace immediately knew he had heard the rumors that flew around the club about what had happened. Ace heard them too, but he didn’t give a fuck what the other club members had to say about what went down between Charity, Rooster, and him. That was no one else’s fucking business.
“How long have they been gone?” Repo asked.
“A few months now. They took off when they realized I was on to them. Listen Repo,” Ace said. He rounded the bar to stand directly in front of his prospect. “As your Prez, I have the right to ask you to do whatever the hell I want. But this goes deeper than doing me a favor. I’ll pay whatever your normal fees are—I just want my daughter back.” He knew he sounded like a fucking pussy, all but begging the new guy to help him out but, if that’s what it took, he’d do it. Ace wasn’t above a little groveling especially if it meant he’d get his daughter back. He wantedher to grow up knowing him. He didn’t know his old man and that led him down many wrong, dark paths. He wanted to give Arabella everything he never had and so much more and Repo was his only chance.
“Will you do it, Repo?” he asked. Yeah—he was asking and not telling. Ace meant what he said—he wouldn’t use his power as the Bandit’s club Prez to get Repo to agree to work for him.
Repo nodded, “Yeah,” he breathed. “But I’m going to need a lot more information. Cat can work on this one with me. She’s getting quite good at tracking people down who don’t want to be found. If they’re hiding, we’ll find them,” Repo promised.
“Thanks, man,” Ace almost whispered. He held out his hand and Repo took it, giving it a shake. “For everything.”
Trinity
Trinity walked into the little bar and worried that she was biting off more than she could chew. But, she had a message to deliver, and then she’d high tail her ass back out of there and get back to the right side of the tracks. She set the car seat on the closest table and shook her achy arm. The kid weighed a ton, and she was sick and tired of lugging her around. Her sister had left her kid at her house and took off with some guy who looked like he just got out of prison. It was just like Charity to pick the seediest, dirtiest, bad assed man to make wrong decisions with. It was who her older sister was, and Trinity was always there to pick up the pieces when the shit hit the fan. She’d count Charity dropping off a baby at her place as the shit hitting the fan.
Charity was drunk out of her mind and Trinity wouldn’t put it past her sister to be high too. Her drug of choice used to be cocaine, but Trinity hadn’t seen her sister in almost five years. Hell, she barely knew the woman Charity had become, and with the way she just dumped off her kid without so much as a glance back, she didn’t want to.
All her sister said was, “I need you to take her to her father. It’s the only way he’ll leave us alone.” Trinity wasn’t quite sure what her sister’s cryptic message even meant until she walked into the bar and quickly looked around. Every guy in the run-down bar was scoping her out and she suddenly worried that she was making a huge mistake. If one of the tattooed, bearded, bike-riding, jackasses looking her over was her niece’s father, maybe she was better off without him.
“Can I help you?” a tall man asked. She strained her neck to look up at him and noticed that his smile was mean and it didn’t touch his eyes. She quickly unzipped the baby’s car carrier, revealing the sleeping infant inside. “I’m looking for this kid’s father.”
