Milo lifted his messy head of curls, pushing off my chest, and rubbed his eyes. “Shit, must have fallen asleep.” His attention drew to me. “What happened?” He climbed out from between my legs and straightened all the way up.
“I don’t know. Guess we were tired.” I sat up and shook my bangs off my forehead. Somehow, we’d tangled ourselves up in each other when we’d fallen asleep. Maybe our bodies were trying to tell us something. I let the corner of my mouth tug up. I wasn’t drunk anymore and could probably drive home. So that problem was solved.
“Maybe the show you were watching was boring as hell.” Silas dropped into the end of the couch and pulled Cash down next to him. “What was it, in case I can’t sleep?” He chuckled.
“A stand up. It was funny, from what I remember.” Milo peeked at me, his lips quirking.
“What time is it?” I looked behind me at the stove and squinted. I couldn’t quite see the clock.
“It’s about midnight.” Silas perused the room. “Are Gabe and Jeremy already in bed?”
“Don’t know. If they came home, we didn’t see them.” Milo rubbed his forehead. “Damn, I was out.”
Silas scoffed. “I can’t imagine Gabe staying out this late. He only does that when we have a gig.”
My attention shifted toward the hallway. Had Gabe and Jeremy come home, found us sleeping together, and just left us? What would they think? Probably didn’t matter too much.
“Speaking of which, we have a late night tomorrow, hun. Let’s go to bed.” Cash arched a brow at Silas.
“I noticed you saidbedand notsleep.” Cupping Cash’s cheek, Silas placed a lingering kiss on his mouth.
I squirmed. What would it be like to kiss Milo like that? His lips always looked so soft.
Milo glanced my way, then cleared his throat and hung his head. “Anyways, youarecoming tomorrow night, right?”
“I am. Wouldn’t miss it.” I grabbed my beer can from the coffee table and shook it. I’d drunk the whole thing before I’d fallen asleep.
“Let’s go.” Keeping his gaze affixed to Cash, Silas rose from the couch and led him down the hallway, then stopped and waved at us. “Nighty-night, you two.”
With a giggle, Cash covered his mouth with the back of his hand and peeked at us.
“Your friends think something happened between us, don’t they.” With a grin teasing my lips, I peeked at Milo.
With an eye roll and a sigh, Milo said, “They’d think that no matter what state they’d found us in when they came home.” He toyed with the edge of his front pocket. “They’re waiting for me to find a guy.” His wide gaze locked to mine, and he parted his lips.
“You mean Archer?” As my chest grew tight, I leaned forward and planted my elbows on my thighs. If this Archer guy was pushing Milo to date him and his friends were pushing for him to find a boyfriend, it was inevitable. I had to be supportive.
“I guess.” He furrowed his brows. “I didn’t get back to him yet. I won’t invite him to the gig tomorrow.”
“Why not?” I kept my gaze on my empty beer can. I had to pretend it wouldn’t bother me if he did invite him.
“Because I’d rather spend time with you.” He sucked in a breath. “Unless…do you want me to invite him? Do you want to meet him?”
I snapped my gaze to his.
He chewed his thumbnail, watching me.
“I, I don’t know. Do you want to start dating him?” An ache wound around my heart. The right thing to say would be that I’d like to meet him. The right thing to do, would be to encourage Milo to date him.
He dropped his hand to his lap. “I don’t know yet.” He huffed a breath. “I’ll sleep on it.” He stood up and stretched his arms over his head, exposing his taut stomach.
Licking my lips, I stared at his abs, my cock waking. Damn it, I had to stop looking at him like this. He was my friend and soon, he’d probably have a boyfriend. Slapping my thighs, I rose up. “Guess I should go.”
“You okay to drive?” His arms fell to his sides.
“Yeah, I slept the beer off.” I squeezed his shoulder. “It takes a lot more than a few beers to get me drunk.” Plus, it would be better if I slept in my dad’s guest bed, where I wouldn’t be tempted to run my tongue over Milo’s sexy abs. Yeah, I needed to go. I slipped my phone into my back pocket, then stepped toward the front door.
He followed me, then swung the door open to the dark night, a warm breeze winding into the house. Scratching the back of his head, he said “So, we’ll probably get to the casino bar at about seven, set up, then have some dinner before the gig. You’re welcome to come early and have dinner with us.” His cheeks flushed. “You can meet the rest of the guys and their boyfriends.”
