“Nero.”
He filled me. Completed me. I loved him more than life itself.
“I love you too,” he told me seriously.
Feelings and thoughts and sensations blurred and blended together as our bodies and minds joined. My head fell back, screaming out in pleasure—and in need. I wanted more of him. Deeper. Longer. Harder. My whole body was quivering in desperation.
His hands broke free. He gripped my hips. Every time our bodies crashed together, a fresh, hot surge of pleasure spiraled through me, growing like a wave.
“Nero,” I gasped desperately—and then screamed out, my release so powerful, so loud that the walls shook.
My body was still trembling when he climbed on top of me. He cast a long, languid look down the length of me. His hand trailed his gaze, unlocking a hotter, more savage hunger inside of me. I growled in frustration when his hand slid down my thigh—teasing, provoking, but not satisfying.
“Please,” I whimpered, shivering. “More.”
Mischief, dark and devious, flashed in his eyes. “I thought you wanted to be in control.”
“I…” I struggled for the words, but right now I could hardly think. All I knew was I wanted him to keep doing what he was doing and more. Much, much more.
His mouth brushed my neck, and I quivered.
“Oh, we’re not finished, Pandora,” Nero said with relish. He kissed me slow and deep, and when he pulled away to meet my gaze, his eyes were burning like angel fire. “Not by a long shot.”
CHAPTER 23
LEDA'S ARMY
“Ilove spending time with you,” I told Nero, cuddling up to him on our bed. My heart was speeding like a galloping racehorse, and the sharp aftershocks of ecstasy pulsed through my body.
“I’d noticed.” His chuckle purred with an easy, satisfied self-confidence that made me really want to kiss him.
My stomach rumbled instead.
“We should get back to dinner,” he said, rising from the bed.
I leaned back and took a moment to enjoy the view.
“Yes?” he asked, brows lifted.
“Oh, nothing. I just like ogling you.”
“I know.” He grabbed his pants, eyes twinkling.
I snorted. “Careful, Windstriker. If you get too cocky?—”
“You’ll need to jump my bones again?” He winked at me.
“Definitely,” I agreed with a grin. Then I jumped off the bed to hunt down my clothes.
Once we were dressed and decent, Nero teleported us back to Calli’s house.
“Leaving so soon?” I asked, snatching his hand as he started to walk away from me.
“Yes.” He leaned in to whisper against my mouth. “If I’m around you right now, I won’t be able to control myself.”
“You say that like it’s a bad thing,” I replied, biting my lip.
He took a step back and put on his work face. “I am the Legion’s Executive Officer, second in command. I must always demonstrate self-control if I expect the same from my soldiers.”
