I slid off the bed and placed the phone on the nightstand, leaning it against the base of my lamp. “You don’t think so?”
“Listen.” He ran his hand through his hair, which I had come tolearn he did whenever he was thinking over his next words. This surprised mejust the same because Sammy Butcher never thought about his words before hespoke. He said whatever was on his mind. It was one of his traits that I wasattracted to. I liked knowing where I stood with him.
I went to my dresser to get changed. He could still see me fromwhere my phone was resting on the nightstand.
“Pet, eyes on me.”
Before I knew what I was doing, I turned, my eyes connectingwith his.
From where I stood, even though it was a few feet away, I couldstill see the sexy as hell smirk spreading on his face. “That right there isone of the reasons this isn’t ending.”
I opened my mouth to speak when he lifted his hand.
“I don’t know what we’re doing. I’ve never been in arelationship. I’m not into the hearts and flowers shit. I don’t make love. Ifuck. Rough, hard, violent, whatever word you want to use to describe it. But Ilike you. Even before we met, and I saw you dancing on that damn stage. I likedyou then and I like you now. I already told you that I’m not sleeping withanyone else.”
“I’m not sleeping with anyone else either, Sammy, but we can’tcontinue this if I say no.”
“No? You don’t think so?” He chuckled, the sound dark andbordering on evil. It sent a delicious shiver down the length of my spine.“Tell me you don’t want to continue this, Amber. Tell me you don’t want to seewhere this goes. Tell me you don’t want to submit to me and see just how far Ican break you, so I can take care of you after and put you back together again.Say it. Say you don’t want this to continue. I fucking dare you.”
“And if I say that? What are you going to do?”
“Try me, Red. I don’t take kindly to little pets who try to topfrom the bottom. Doesn’t sit well with me and I will put an end to that shit.Real fast.”
“Well, you aren’t here now, are you? So, I guess there’s nothingyou can do, is there, Sammy?” I went up to my phone and picked it up off thenightstand. “So...” I licked my lips, his eyes following the swipe of mytongue. “I don’t want this to continue. I don’t want to see where this goes. Idon’t want to submit to you and I sure as hell won’t touch myself to thoughtsof you later either.” I disconnected the call but not before I heard a growlyfuckon the other end.
Placing the phone back on the nightstand, I blew out a slowbreath, expecting him to call back, but when he didn’t, it only made it moreexciting. Because I knew, God did I ever know, he was going to make good on hispromise and I couldn’t wait.
Sammy
Pacing back and forthin my room, I stewed over Amber’swords and what I would do and how I would take care of this little issuebetween us. Add to the fact that she was several hours away in another city.
I had planned on driving up to see her right away, but time gotaway from me and I also found that teasing her was more exciting. It had beenone of the reasons I decided to video chat with her instead of just straight upcalling her. But little did I know, she would tease and taunt me instead.
Amber had hung up on me over an hour ago and I had been pacingever since. Her words pissed me off but at the same time they turned me thefuck on. My palms tingled with thoughts of spanking her ass as she was bentover my knees, begging for me to fuck her. Or my fingers down her throat as shegagged, spittle leaking from the corners of her mouth as tears rolled down hercheeks. She would cry. I would make sure of it. But she would love the fuck outof what I wanted and would do to her.
I had never met a woman who could handle me and didn’t runcrying to their daddy because the big bad boy was mean. I wasn’t mean. I justgot off on certain things. The women I had been with had never been blindsidedby that fact. It wasn’t like I ever hid it from them. They just assumed theycould take it, take me, and they couldn’t.
But Amber? She took and she gave right back. That had been whatI hinted for. Always. She had been the only one who understood because sheneeded it too. She enjoyed being called names and I enjoyed calling her them.It was a trust I had never experienced before and while that single trust cameon fast, there was more we would have to eventually explore.
But for now, I needed to see her. I needed to let her know thather sass hadn’t gone unnoticed but fuck me, did I ever crave it.
Finally getting an idea, I went to the one person who I knewwould be able to give me the information I was looking for. Amber wouldn’t tellme where her mom lived but little did she know that I knew people. I would haveto call in a favor but having her in the end would be worth it.
As I left my room, I was greeted by my brother and his girl, noless. “What are you two doing here?” I asked as Ainsley Cloet stood from thecouch and came toward me.
“We wanted to get out of the house,” Cyrus explained, watchinghis fiancée step into my open arms.
“We were going to hit up that club,” Ainsley said softly, hugging me around the middle.
“Really?” I looked between them, keeping my arms around myfuture sister in-law a little longer than necessary. If it had bothered mybrother, I wouldn’t hug her like I did, but it didn’t, so I soaked up herwarmth a few extra seconds. Truth was, Ainsley gave perfect hugs. Knowing shedidn’t like being touched by anyone but my brother usually, I never took herhugs for granted. Especially when we hadn’t gotten along in the beginningeither.
“Yeah, I know.” Cyrus nodded toward her. “It was her idea.”
She laughed lightly, pulled away from me, and went back up to mybrother.
He wrapped his arm around her shoulders, leaning down to her earand fingering the lock hanging from the collar that was around her throat.
She smiled as he murmured something to her. “I know.” She kissedhis cheek and stepped away from him. “I’ll give you two a moment,” she said, heading out of the basement and walking up the stairs.
