“How did you know?” I asked, reaching up to run my fingers along his cheek.

“Because I can tell. Whenever I talk about how much of a dick he’s being, you get this look on your face.”

“What kind of look?” I asked, staring up at the man who had suddenly captured every piece of my soul without even trying.

“You look sad, but I can also see a longing,” Cyrus murmured.

“I would give anything to have a sibling of my own. It’s like you have an automatic best friend.”

He grunted. “Sammy and I are twins and sure, we’re close, and he is my best friend, but we still fight. And it’s not pretty fighting either. It’s downright filthy and nasty with the shit he likes to pull. He’s a dirty fighter, baby. But I promise, we’re fine. And if we’re not fine now, we will be because that’s how it is with us.” He crouched until he was eye level with me. “Okay?”

I nodded. “Okay.”

“Good.” He kissed my forehead. “Now let’s eat before it gets cold.”

“Iseriously can’t believehow good you are at this game,” I said in awe at Ainsley’s racing skills.

She giggled, gently nudging me in the shoulder. “I have a lot of time on my hands.”

“I’d like to have my hands on you,” I growled in her ear.

Her laugh deepened. “Stop, you’re going to make me crash.”

I chuckled, placing the controller down on the floor beside us. She was sitting between my legs with her back to my front.

“You don’t want to play anymore?” she asked, a frown settling between her brows when one of the other racers crashed into her.

“Nah.” I brushed her hair off the back of her neck. “I’m enjoying watching you.” And I wasn’t lying either. She chewed her bottom lip, her gaze hard and determined as she kicked the opponent’s asses she was playing against.

After breakfast, we cleaned and washed the dishes, took a shower together and spent the day doing nothing. It was now late that night and we were enjoying each other’s company.

A few minutes later and she cheered. “I said I would kick their ass.”
