We go silent for long enough that I doze off to sleep. I haven’t been sleeping for more than at most an hour at a time. I’m not sure if the guys are sleeping at all. I am woken when the door comes open, and Daemon’s voice in my head tells me to get up. I look up at the door and see three people come into the room. It is dark now, but I can make out Zypher and Morwen. It’s not until Zypher turns the blinding light on that I see her.

A woman about my size walks in behind them. She looks to be in her mid-fifties. She has blonde hair and pale skin. It takes a second for it to register why she looks so familiar. When it hits me, I get off the table and move away from everyone. Morwen chuckles at my reaction.

“No,” I say, shaking my head.

“What’s going on? Who is she?”Daemon asks. I ignore him, but my mates keep asking. I put up a mental block so I can’t hear them. I am staring at the woman, but there is no way.
