Slowly releasing her arms, he helps guide her back down to the desk and runs his hands along her back while he stays inside her warmth for just a few more moments.
“As much fun as last night was, I do enjoy a good quickie,” she mutters with her cheek pressed against the wood.
“Any time with you is a good time,” he says and eases out of her. “But that was fucking amazing.”
Standing, she reaches down to grab her robe and slips it back on as he pulls his sweatpants up. “I love you.”
“I love you, too,” he says and kisses her. “More than you know.”
“I think I have an idea…”
Summer stops speaking and frowns, and Brock stares in concern. “Summer?”
“Hmm?”
“You said you have an idea. Then you froze.”
Pointing at the screen, she asks, “Is that who you’re trying to identify?”
He turns and nods. “Yeah, that’s the guy who beat up Shannon and doesn’t want to take no for an answer. He calls himself Kiefer.”
“You’re going to want to talk to my dad.”
“What? Why?”
“Because that’s Donald Ramsey. He’s the CFO of Dad’s company.”
Shaking his head, he looks confused. “Are you sure? I’ve run him through multiple databases, and if he’s that prominent, I should’ve gotten a result by now.”
“He’s untouchable, Brock. Dad hates him, but he blackmailed his way into the company. He’s a paranoid narcissist, and he’s dangerous. Promise me you won’t go after him.”
“I can’t promise that if he’s after Shannon. He said he’ll kill her if she won’t be his. We can’t just let that go and put her in danger.”
She lets out a shaky breath. “Talk to Dad before you do anything.”
“Maybe it’s not him.”
“He goes by Kiefer, right?” He nods, and she sniffles. “He’s obsessed with Kiefer Sutherland. He’s even referred to himself as Jack Bauer. You know, the main character in24. It makes sense he’d use that name. You have to be careful, Brock.”
“Always.”
“Hey, Sebastian,” Brock says as his father-in-law steps into his house.
Normally, Brock would meet Sebastian at his work or the house Summer grew up, but Sebastian insisted they meet at his house. It’s not safe otherwise.
“Hey, Brock. Please tell me that you aren’t going after Donald Ramsey,” Sebastian says and sits at the kitchen table.
He waves away the mug of coffee his daughter offers him, and Brock sees fear in the older man’s eyes. “He’s hurting a woman. A woman someone in the club cares about.”
“You have to be diligent with him,” he says. “He’s paranoid. Crazy-paranoid. He put cameras in his office because he’s convinced someone will try and break into it. He also has a top-of-the-line security system at his house. I don’t know what he has to steal, but whatever it is, he considers it precious.”
“Everything is hackable if you have the right set of skills.”
“Look, Brock, I don’t know exactly what Donald’s done, but you can’t take him on like you can everyone else. He’s untouchable. You’d have a better chance at getting to the President of the United States than you do getting Donald Ramsey.”
The statement catches him off guard. “Why?”
“He has dirt on everyone. Every position of power, he has something. He’s embezzled from multiple other companies, but he was never convicted. I wouldn’t have let him into the position he has now, but I have a board that I gave power to since my stroke.”
