He was bumbling this again. Slow down.Keep it simple, stupid.
“Gia, I’m totally attracted to you. That’s what I was trying to tell you the other night...”
“You were?”
Seth nodded. “Yes.”
She spoke almost in a whisper. “But you—but I didn’t give you a chance?”
He nodded. “When I finally thought about what I told you, I realized that you must’ve misunderstood me. I was an idiot. I should’ve gotten right to the point. I’m so sorry I put you through all of that.”
He squeezed her hands.
Gia kept her eyes on him, her expression lightening. She smiled. “Really? Because I thought…”
He held her gaze. “I know. You thought wrong.” He smiled.
She stared at him, stunned.
He held her hands more tightly. “I like you, Gia. I want to get to know you better. Would that be okay?”
She still looked a little shocked, but she nodded eagerly. She leaned in more closely and he reached down and pressed his lips against hers.
She kissed him back. It was happening, and it was incredible. Her lips felt tender, gentle, understanding. Finally, he pulled away.
“Can you forgive me for making such a mess of things?”
“Of course I can.” She reached up and kissed him again then wrapped her arms around him and he pulled her in.
