Their massage therapists showed up for them then and led them back to their individual rooms. Alexis undressed after her therapist left the room, and then she got onto the massage table, face down. She swept her hair to the side as the therapist knocked on the door.

“Come in,” Alexis called. The massage therapist came in, rubbing oil on her hands. As she rubbed her shoulders, Alexis could feel the tension leaving her body. She sighed in relief. She hadn’t realized how much she needed this. Her therapist was doing a great job.

Her massage ended way too soon, and after the massage therapist left the room, Alexis got back up and got dressed. She met her therapist back out in the hallway where she met Alexis with a cup of water and led her back to the relaxation room. Tessa and Sariah were already sitting in there.

“What’s next on the agenda?” Alexis asked them.

“From what I understand, we’re getting facials next,” Sariah said.

“Ooh, nice,” Alexis said. “This is turning out to be a fantastic day. I feel so relaxed after that massage.”

“I know what you mean.” Sariah rolled her shoulders.

“How are things at the jewelry shop?” Alexis asked Sariah.

“Rough. Business has been slow lately.”

“I’m sorry to hear that,” Alexis said. “I wish there were something I could do to help.”

“How are things at the bakery?” Sariah asked.

“I’ve gotten busier, but I’m not sure how we came out this last month yet. I was just working on the books before I came over here. I’m hoping things have gotten better. It’s been tough the past few months.”

“I would think you’d be slammed with weddings this time of year,” Tessa said.

“I’ve had some,” Alexis responded. “But it hasn’t been enough. I got slammed with a hefty tax bill I didn’t know was coming.”

“Ouch,” Sariah said. “That’s the worst.”

Carrington emerged from the hallway where they’d gone to get their massages. “Hey there, ladies.” She eyed a stand with cups and hot water. “Ooh! They have tea?” She bustled about, fixing herself a cup of the steaming liquid.

Lauren arrived from her massage, and she took a seat next to Carrington, who was sipping her tea. “I don’t know if I’m going to have time to drink this, but I couldn’t resist.”

“What kind of tea is that?” Lauren asked.

“It’s Orange Bliss.”

“That sounds lovely. We probably don’t have time for me to get any tea right now, though.”

And she was right because the door opened, and the estheticians showed up to take them back for their facials. Once Alexis got back into her room, she took a seat and relaxed as she got her facial. She hadn’t felt this pampered in a long time. She would have to thank Lauren for choosing an activity that was so beneficial to all her bridesmaids.

After her facial, she went back out to the waiting room and met up with the ladies again. “Time for mani/pedis!” Lauren sang.

“How did you have money to fund all of this?” Alexis asked Lauren. “I can imagine that this is costing a fortune.”

“Chase is paying for it,” Lauren said. “He said he wanted to spoil all my bridesmaids, and he wanted me to have the chance to bond with all of you.”

“Aww,” Carrington said. “That was incredibly sweet of him.”

“That sounds like Chase. He has such a generous heart,” Alexis said.

“He really does.” Lauren got a dreamy look in her eyes. “I’m so lucky to have him.”

“I know Chase will treat you like gold. He’s always been a good brother to me,” Alexis said.

“I know,” Lauren said. “And that’s even more reason for me to love him. He treats my best friend well.”

“You’re a sweetheart, Lauren,” Alexis said.
