I peel off my shirt. I can’t help but notice the way Aria looks me over. She likes what she sees and that feels fucking good.
“Here.” I hand her a tweezer. “Get to digging.”
Her shudder is visible. “You can’t be serious.”
“Oh, I’m serious, princess. Get the bullet out.” I sit down on the toilet so she has better access.
“I can’t believe this,” she mutters with a grimace before she places the tweezers to my arm. When she shoves it into the bullet hole, I grit my teeth to keep from yelling. Even I can feel pain.
With a determined expression, she manages to get the bullet out. “There.”
“Thank fuck,” I pant. “Now, stitch me up.” I nod to the first aid kit. “Needle and thread should be in there.”
“I don’t know how to stitch up a wound.”
“Don’t you know how to sew?”
“No.”
“I thought all girls knew how to sew.”
“Yeah, if this was 1950 but it’s not. I don’t know how to sew.”
I cup her face with my bloody fingers. “Princess, just stitch me up. Do you need me to say please? Fine. Please.” I pull my hands away, leaving blood behind on her perfect skin.
She stares at me with wide eyes for a moment before she grabs the needle and thread with shaky fingers.
“I thought you weren’t scared of anything,” I say.
“I’m not.”
“Then why are you shaking?”
“I’m not.”
“You’re not going to hurt me. I have antibiotics I can take so don’t worry about an infection. Got it?”
With an eye roll, she starts stitching up my wound. She makes fast work of it, I’ll give her that. And when it’s done, I can tell she stitched it up good.
“I thought you said you didn’t know how to sew,” I say.
She shrugs. “Beginner’s luck.”
“I should say so.”
“So, how did you get shot anyway?”
“My brother.” I don’t look at her as I say it. Instead, I’m focused on trying to get this damn medicine bottle open.
“Your brother?”
“Don’t sound so shocked, princess. Me and my brother hate each other.”
“I’ve heard the stories about you and Aiden. Everyone has. Even Dante has told me things about you two but he’s never said you hated each other. I thought you were just mad at each other.”
“That too.”
She huffs. “Care to explain more?”
