Two days later, my furniture came in and was set up in my new bedroom.
Knox provided me with whatever furniture I wanted, along with a massive king-size bed. I couldn’t wait to break it in with my two men.
I made my room more contemporary and less modern than how Knox and Finn had theirs. It was minimalist, but we got the bedroom set atPottery Barn. While I loved it, it was weird to have Knox pay for everything. But he waved me away, claiming it was his job to take care of me, just like he did for Finn.
Once I finished making the bed with my new sheets and comforter, Finn walked in and set a picture frame on the nightstand, next to the only one I had from college with Waylon. “There. Something else that’s personal.”
I lifted the image and smiled at the three of us. Finn had taken a selfie of us by the pool outside when the leaves were turning.
“Thank you, Finn. I love it.”
I set it down and walked over to the large window overlooking the garden outside. I didn’t have a pool view, but it was beautiful, nonetheless. Even better? It had recently started snowing, dusting the ground in a blanket of white. I’d always loved the snow.
Finn stood next to me and wrapped an arm around my waist, and I held him back as we looked out at the winter wonderland.
“It’s so rare to have snow right before Christmas. Usually, we get it in January or February,” he said.
“I love it.”
“I wish you could stay with us for Christmas.”
“My parents need me. I didn’t see them last year, and I can’t even imagine the pain I must have caused them, being not only without my sister but without me.”
“You were grieving. I’m sure they understand.”
I smiled when two large arms wrapped around Finn and me. “I’m glad you’re going, even if we’re going to miss you,” Knox said.
“You can always come with me.”
He chuckled. “Your parents are still getting used to us. Let’s give our relationship more time first. Plus, they need this holiday with just you. You all need some more healing, I think.”
Finn and I turned to face Knox and held him back.
“Where did you go today, Father? You didn’t tell us you were leaving.”
“That’s what I came to see you about. Now, don’t be upset with me, Precious, but I had a visit with a Mr. Marc Laurent, who just happened to be in DC today.”
Finn stiffened, and his brow furrowed. “Justhappenedto be?”
“With my insistence. Let’s just say he shouldn’t be bothering any more young men from now on.”
“W-what did you do, Father?”
“Don’t you worry about it. Just know that I will always protect what is mine. He touched you and made you do something against your will. I couldn’t let that stand.”
“Sir… you didn’t do something that will land you in jail, did you?” I asked.
Knox chuckled. “I didn’t have to. That man about pissed his pants when I made my threats—very real threats after I called in some favors to people who have the power to destroy his entire world. For now, they’ve destroyed his business. It’s nice to have connections with the club. Anyway, men like Laurent are always cowards, trying to have the power they lack through control and manipulation. Corner them, and they fold faster than a shitty hand of poker. I would rather see him in jail, but it’s been hard to get the models to come forward. Maybe one day, he’ll fall for good. For now, he should be leaving the men alone. He’ll be lucky to photograph pets at this point.”
Finn held Knox tighter and rested his head on Knox’s chest. “Thank you, Father.”
“You’re welcome, Precious.”
He looked at me and kissed my forehead. “That goes for you, too. If anyone pulls a stunt like that or hurts you, tell me immediately and I will destroy them.”
“Thank you,” I said.
He pulled away from us and looked around the room. “Looking good, Sweet Boy. As much as I would like to break it in, we’ll have to do it later. Besides, tomorrow night, we have a reservation at the club.”
