Five
“…and that’s why the Wasps are taking it this year,” Amir continued shouting. “Tell ‘em, Jason!”
“About what? About the Wasps?” Jason asked as he loudly entered the room. “The Wasps put a beating on the Beagles—oh! And speaking of a beating, I see we have Asha and Nick in the building.”
“Cut that shit out,” Nick replied with a shake of his head.
Jason dapped Nick up and then took my hand. “If anything ever goes sideways with him, just know that I’ll kick his ass for you.”
“Thank you,” I giggled.
“Back to my announcements,” Amir called out. “My third point…”
“I’m sorry about that,” Nick uttered as the conversations loudly swirled around us.
“About Jason?” I shook my head. “It’s fine. He’s ridiculous.”
Nick and the rest of the members of the frat were tuned in and listening intently to the announcements and plans. I was focused on the way Nick’s thumb grazed the top of my ass as he held me. I was captivated by the way he’d sneak glances at meand my body. I was seduced by the way his dick seemed to stir under me every time I shifted in his lap.
A laugh rumbled through the crowd, pulling me from my trance and I noticed the amount of people filling the room. Everyone had poured in from elsewhere in the house, making the living room a few degrees warmer. I realized there were more people in the house than I realized. I also realized a good amount of time had passed.
Damn. Nick was right.
It had to be at least fifteen minutes and Amir was still talking.
I felt like I was at a business meeting and not a party.
Suddenly a loud whirring sound filled the air and then everything went black. Lots of alarmed noises, a few screams, and a general air of confusion swirled around.
“We blew a fuse,” a deep voice called out.
“Where’s the fuse box?” someone else asked.
“How the fuck should I know?” Amir responded. “We got here this morning.”
The argument in the dark was amusing.
It was pitch black in the house except for a few people who were using their cell phones for light. My head was on a swivel trying to see what was going on. The sound of people moving and shifting around, looking for the problem was actually creating more chaos. People were laughing and talking as they bumped into each other, the walls, the DJ equipment, the furniture.
“You okay?” Nick asked me in a husky whisper.
My eyes were starting to adjust to the darkness, and I could see the outline of Nick’s handsome face. “I’m good,” I assured him. “You okay?”
He nodded and his head brushed my arm. “Yeah.”
From the way his head was resting on my arm, I could tell it was tilted upward. If I leaned down a few inches, our mouthswould touch. I wanted him to kiss me so bad that I could feel myself being drawn to his.
“Asha,” he exhaled my name in such a way that I knew he was trying to seduce me.
And it was working.
I licked my lips. “Yes?”
“I think you’re going to have to get up.”
I froze. “Oh!” I started to push myself up. “Am I too heavy? Am I hurting you? I’m sorry.”
He held me tighter, preventing me from getting off him. “No. That’s not why.”
