Page 32 of Release Me

And if Connor ever learns about it, everyone at Wolf—right up to the big boss Henry Wolf himself—will know.

Jean sighs heavily. “It’s going to be so boring here this summer.”

My nose wrinkles. She’s been in love with my brother since the first day the idiot strolled in. And she’s not the only one. There are at least three others in the office who perk up every time he comes in here to annoy me.

I guess I can’t blame them. We were complete strangers when we met, and I noticed his bright blue eyes and dimpled smile right away. No one can honestly claim he isn’t handsome. But the fact that we’re blood related instantly diminished his appeal.

As does the fact that he’s a pig. He’d nail every last girl in housekeeping if he could. Everyone knows it, and it still doesn’t seem to sway them from their adoration. I don’t understand.

The fawning over Ronan hasn’t been much better. You’d think he were some sort of god who walked on water to get here. Though, after last night, I might agree with that.

David was never able to get me to orgasm during sex, and he tried. Eventually, he insisted it had to be my issue, and I agreed.

I swallow the rising bubble of nerves as a memory hits, ofRonan kneeling in front of me, gripping my thighs tight. I can still feel him with each step I take. Just the thought of him now stirs a throb between my legs.

Giving my head a shake, I push all thoughts of Ronan aside.

16.Ronan

“Six peopleto a cabin?” Connor’s jaw drops.

“Yeah. And bunk beds.” Dean shakes his head. “Didn’t you read the email? It was all spelled out in there.”

“I top-lined it.” Connor shrugs. “Caught the important things.”

Apparently not. “I sure as shit don’t remember you telling me I’d be going back tocamp,” I glare at my idiot roommate. “Seriously, is it too late to back out?”

“Fuck that, you are not backing out. Trust me, this summer is gonna be life-altering.” Connor slaps my shoulder. “I’ll even take the top ’cause I’m such a good friend.”

“And you get to bottom, Ronan,” Dean gibes.

“Whoa there.” Connor waggles his finger. “We’re not at the crossing-swords stage of our friendship yet.”

“Yet?” I throw my hands out in awhat the fuckgesture. “I like you, man, but not likethat.”

His eyebrows arch. “What if we’re tag-teaming and we accidentally?—”

“No.” I shake my head. I’m willing to embrace my single life wholeheartedly, but dicks don’t make mine hard.

Meanwhile, Dean doubles over with laughter.

The sound of approaching heels stalls our highly inappropriate conversation. Three front desk clerks stroll along the hallway, dressed in matching fitted skirts and blouses, Starbucks cups in their manicured hands.

“Hey, Eliza.” Dean waves at the leggy blond, the one boning Ryan’s ex.

“Hey.” Her fingers wiggle with her returning wave, giving him a brief glance before her attention shifts first to Connor, then to me, where it lingers until she’s forced to break her gaze.

Connor tracks her ass as they head down the hall. “Damn, those are some legs.”

“Yup.” She’s about as opposite to Ryan as one can get.

He shakes his head. “Seriously, she’s one of the hottest girls at this location. What does she see in David? The guy’s as exciting as a colon cleanse.”

“Probably the same thing Ryan saw in him,” I counter.

“Yeah, but that’sRyan,” he scoffs, as if it’s self-explanatory.

“Legs has nothing on your sister.” I may not have seen it when I first met Ryan, but now that I have, I can’t unsee it. Especially not after last night, with her compact naked body splayed out before me, as she bit her bottom lip to keep from making noise. I can say with one hundred percent certainty that no woman has shocked me like she did, showing up in my room like that. “Seriously, she’s a catch.” Who is currently freaking out about hooking up with me last night if skipping her jog to hide behind her bedroom door is any clue.
