“Got a call that you were on the way up. Long time no see.”

Ari, Averi and Egypt excused themselves. And before either of us could speak, I closed the distance, pulling her into my arms. She stiffened at first. Then—slowly—she melted into me. I held her tight, breathing her in.

That’s when I felt it—the curve of her belly. I pulled back, looking down. "Can I?" I asked, voice barely above a whisper.

She smiled softly, nodding.

I placed my hand over her stomach feeling the warmth, the life growing inside her.

"Damn," I whispered. "That’s really our baby in there."

She chuckled. "Yes, Creed. If you’re lucky he or she might start kicking and you can feel them."
