She cut Heath off. “Idolove you, Heath.” She didn’t wait for his reaction before turning to Dayne. “And I love you, too, Dayne. Missing my time with you last weekend only proved it to me once more. I need to be a part of your lives. I want to be with both of you. I do want to live with you and create a life, even a family with you, if that’s what we decide. No matter what, my life would be empty without both of you.”
“You have Buttons.” Dayne smirked.
Cara rolled her eyes. “True. She’s a great companion and I love her to death but it’s not the same. You are my lovers. My partners. My supporters.”
Maybe even the future fathers to her children. Of course, they’d have to revisit that discussion another day. Or moonlit night.
“I wouldn’t want to be with anyone else,” Dayne said next.
Heath pressed the back of his hand against Dayne’s forehead. “Still no fever.”
She had no idea what that was about but she could guess.
“Is this all a dream and I’m still in my bed back in Carlisle?” she whispered.
“It’s real.” Heath leaned in and brushed his lips over hers. “Did you feel that kiss?”
She smiled. “Of course, but who said my dreams aren’t full of your kisses? Dayne’s, too.”
“Look at that, she dreams about us.” Apparently, Dayne’s cockiness decided to make an appearance tonight.
“Well, it’s only fair since we dream about her.”
“Just to make sure I’m not asleep, kiss me again, Heath.”
He immediately took her mouth, driving his tongue deep and leaving her breathless. As soon as he backed off, Dayne took his place, sharing a kiss that made her heat up and wish they were in his wing of the farmhouse.
Naked.
With a closet full of toys nearby.
Boy, had her life changed. Over six months ago she would only read about these types of stories.
Now she was living it.
As soon as Dayne broke the kiss, the three of them pressed their foreheads together and whisperedI love yous.
Hearing those words filled her heart. She really, really needed to make the move to the resort work. It might not be immediately, but she’d do everything in her power to make it happen sooner than later. She didn’t want to spend more time apart than necessary.
When they finally separated and sat back, Dayne said, “Like I told Heath, if you find you’re not comfortable living in the farmhouse, we could always take the same route Dylan is and build our own house. We could have my brother draw up what we’d want and Ford could help build it. But if we want to stay in the farmhouse, I told Heath we could set upan office for him in Dylan’s wing once they vacate it. If you find a remote position, we could do the same for you.”
“No matter what, we’ll figure it out,” Heath assured her.
Dayne nodded in agreement. “We’ll figure it out one way or another.”
Their determination shot a thrill through Cara. She blew out a breath and whispered, “Are we really doing this?”
Dayne grinned. “We are, if you say yes.”
Cara closed her eyes and listened carefully to what her gut was shouting. “Then, I say yes!”
Once they finished off the wine and ate all the food, Cara laid her head in Heath’s lap while he laid his head in Dayne’s. For over an hour, they clasped hands and stared up at the vast night sky. No words were necessary.
But Dayne’s came back to her from all those months ago:The only limits will be of your own making.
The sky was now her only limit.
Not only were they celebrating the last six months together, but now they could celebrate their future.
