This was a connection unlike any other. I could sense Kavi on new levels, and my heart swelled, my yearning to be close to him strengthening. I pressed a hand to my lips, eyes widening in shock as I sat up.

“Are you okay?” His voice was already stronger, the color returning to his skin. His eyes searched mine as if he was looking for a flicker of regret.

But all they contained was wonder. I knew this; because it was the feeling overwhelming me right now. I nodded, unable to form words. A smile split Kavi’s lips, and then he sat up, pulled me into his lap and kissed me hard.

I chuckled against Kavi’s mouth, then nestled my head against his shoulder.

This was my new life.

Ournew life.

“Better?” I asked.

“The best,” Kavi replied.
