Tyler rolled his eyes and looked to Serenity. “I guess the single friends will ride together since we’re crashing y’all little siblings trip anyway.”

Besides the occasional curse word from Crayson and Ty who still didn’t seem to enjoy the outing, the rest of the ride was perfect.

CADEN

Shit.I groaned as I was hit in the face by an arm. After we’d gotten back from horse riding, Cordelia and I had taken a long shower together after I’d texted my brothers that we’d be taking a quick cat nap before we headed to my parent’s place.

When I first began to wake up from the nap, I assumed Cordelia was shaking me. Little had I known, she was dancing in her sleep and singing to a song that had me widening my sleepy eyes. I’d heard her talk in her sleep before, but this was new.

“I’m in love wit’ a stripper, he poppin’, he rollin’. He climbin’ that pole,” she sleep-sang. I hadn’t heard a T-Pain song in forever. But how did she manage to change the words in her sleep, though?Cordelia had changed all theshe’stohe’sand off-key or not, I was pretty damn impressed.

In love?It was only a song, but hearing her repeat those words had me crossing my hands behind my head and nodding to the beat. I was enjoying the show, even singing some parts aloud that I would deny ever singing if she happened to wake up in the middle of a verse. I only stopped entertaining her when the sheet began to slip from her naked body.

Damn.If possible, she grew more gorgeous every time I saw her. I’d made a rule that whenever we were under the sheets together, clothes were not an option. I wanted her sexy ass naked all the time because I didn’t want any restrictions in the bedroom when the mood hit. And with Cordelia, the mood hit me anytime she was within reach.

Like now…A quick glance at the clock on my nightstand proved we only had thirty minutes before we had to be dressed and out the house. I’d never been one for quickies, but there was a first time for everything.

My tongue slid over her nipples first, her broken lyrics slightly faltering as I alternated between breasts. I didn’t know she was awake until her soft moans teased my ears.

“Hey beautiful.”

She smiled. “Hey cowboy. Is naptime over?”

I smirked, threw the sheets to the floor, and slowly widened her legs so I could fit between them. “Yeah, it’s over.”

I wasted no time sliding inside her slick pussy, her legs encircling around my waist and locking at her ankles. We moved in our unique rhythm the way we did each and every time my dick was buried inside her. The wall was shaking from the constant banging of my headboard, but I didn’t give a shit if I busted a hole through the wall. It would be worth it to be wrapped up in this moment with her.

My groan echoed off the wall when I came, louder than Cordelia’s moans minutes before. I was so satisfied, I could have fallen back asleep, but the sound of an incoming message reminded me we were short on time.

“Crap. The others are downstairs waiting for us. I’ll text them back that we’ll be ten more minutes.”And I’ll mark a reminder in my calendar for tomorrow to get back any spare key I gave out.Couldn’t have folks just popping up at my house anymore.

She kissed me one more time before she got out of bed and started getting dressed. A few minutes later, we were downstairs as promised. And true to his nature, Crayson didn't waste any time shit-talking.

“Damn Caden. You could have let us know that you trading in LeeLee for Cordelia meant we’d be waiting around for yo’ ass more than ever.”

Instead of entertaining him, I flipped him my middle finger, to which he placed his hand over his heart like he was touched at the sentiment.

“Okay, let’s go,” I announced. We all began piling out of my house when Cordelia’s phone rang. I’d barely heard her greet the caller before she stopped and gripped the porch railing.

“What’s wrong?” I asked when her hand flew to her mouth.

Her eyes were rimmed with tears, her voice barely audible when she said, “It’s my mom. Sh—She was found on the floor of her bedroom.”

I stepped closer to her for support. “What happened?”

Instead of responding, she leaned to me and began crying into my arms. It took a full minute before Cordelia finally whispered, “She passed away.”

My heart dropped because even though I knew she wasn’t really close to her mom, that was still her parent. I glanced back at my family who had been listening, each of them looking as helpless as I felt.

“I have to go home as soon as possible,” she muttered.

Selfishly, I didn’t want her going anywhere near her hometown. But this news was devastating, so without hesitation, I insisted, “I’m going with you.”

There was no way I was letting her face this alone. Not a chance.
