"No, dad, I am fine. We should worry about Stephen now. How are you feeling now?

Before Stephen could reply, Rose replied, entering the room. The workers were following her holding trays with some refreshments

“Don’t ask how he behaved today. The doctor advised him to stay in the hospital for some days as undergoing surgery is not a joke, but we all know him, so he pressured the doctor to discharge him today itself.”

“Why did you do that? You must have listened to the doctor."

“Don’t listen to mom; I am fine now. The doctor just advised me to take a proper rest, and I will do that. I love to be at home more than at the hospital. “

Eva gave a nod at his words. The other got occupied with some other discussions, but Eva’s mind was stuck on one name, and that was Liam Hudson.

Stephen noticed her troublesome expression, but he thought she must be worried about all these happenings, and the pregnancy must be tiring for her too.

So he inquired a little.

That night Eva could not sleep. She was mature enough to understand the threat behind Liam’s words. Eva never wished for fortune or wealth; she only wished for a peaceful and joyful life. However, she lived a life that was the exact opposite of what she desired. Despite being entitled to wealth, there was no peace in her life. She constantly lived under the threat and fear of losing someone close to her.

This unexpected meeting plan surprised him, but he still reached the conference room on time.

Eva started the meeting while addressing about her decisions

“First, I would like to thank all of you for your presence here on short notice. This meeting was called upon to inform you all about my decision.”

Eva placed a letter in her front desk and declared,

"I would like to inform you I am stepping down from my position as the MD of the Hudson group of companies.”.

It surprised Harry while it caused astonishment among the other board members. However, Liam wore an evil smirk, pleased that Eva had taken his threat seriously.

“Eva, why are you doing so? Did someone pressurize you for this impulsive decision?”

Harry inquired as he was doubtful about Stephen forcing her to quit
