“Yes, the big, bad assassin has better things to do with his time besides what is asked of him.” Alec laughs. “Funny you think you have a life of your own outside of this, Tiberius.” He says.

“If you all are done with your bickering, Tiberius, I have a name.” Orion says.

“Great, if you will just give it to me so I can be on my way, that would be splendid.” I say while rolling my eyes at their absurdness.

“Gladly, but there is something you should know about this particular name, should you choose to take it.” Orion says. Riddles. Why must they always speak in riddles?

“For the love of all things I take pleasure in killing, tell me or one day I will make sure it is one of your names I get.” I seethe.

“Watch who you are speaking to, Tiberius. Don’t think you are the only assassin that is the best at what they do. We have plenty at our disposal that are more than willing to knock you off the high horse you think you sit upon.” Galileo informs me, rushing towards me like he even stands a chance against me.

“Neither one of you scare me. If that’s what you meant to do, I suggest you up your scare tactics. You think it is so easy for someone to kill me? In the blink of an eye, you would already be dead. Do not threaten me, Galileo, because unlike you, I will make good on my promise.” I growl. “Now. Give. Me. The. Name.” I say, taking steps towards him until he is cornered.

“Her name is Moon.” At the mention of her name, I begin to laugh.

“Moon? Great, a hippie. Tell me where to find her.” I say, trying to catch my breath. But once I look up and see the confusion etched on Orion’s face, I stop. “What is it you aren’t telling me?”

“You didn’t give me the chance to finish.” Orion begins. “That’s all we have, a first name, no last name, no location, nothing. It’s as if she dropped off the face of the realms.” He begins.

“Well, obviously somebody found her because you lot want her dead.” I mumble. “Don’t worry your pretty, little heads off, I will find her and get the job done.” I say, committing her name to memory as I turn to leave.

“Don’t keep us waiting too long, Tiberius.” Galileo smiles at me which is meant to look menacing, but it doesn’t. I flip him the bird on my way out.

To think, I went through all those obstacles for a name without a face. I didn’t need to come in for that shit. I’m sure they could have used some form of code to reach out to me and have it delivered.

“So, how do you plan to find her, Ty?” Aryas asks, jogging to catch up to me.

“Do you really think I’m going to tell you that? We aren’t friends, and you would undoubtedly run back and tell them, because you all think I can’t get the job done just because I don’t know what she looks like.” I yell.

“Look, I know you don’t like me, and I could care less, but for this one, you’re going to need some help, and I have a bit of info that may be of use to you.” He whispers.

“Like hell I will. You, too, underestimate my powers.” I say, stopping in my tracks. “Would you like to witness them firsthand?” I ask, slamming him into the nearest wall.

I pounce on him, wrapping my hand around his throat, causing him to open his mouth to let out a scream, but I capture it along with his essence as I begin to steal his life.

“Ty, stop.” He croaks.

“I won’t kill you, but let this be a reminder to you all. I am not someone to play with. Be grateful I didn’t unleash the full beast on you.” I grunt.

“Tiberius, when are you going to see that I am on your side? I know you don’t have complete faith in us, the why is what I don’t get, they took you in when your parents were killed.” He rasps, trying to catch his breath.

“They? Aren’t you a part of them?” I ask, squeezing his neck tighter.

“Am I?” He whispers, attempting to laugh while I’m choking the life out of him.

“It doesn’t matter. ” I say, releasing him where he falls to the ground with a thud. “I have work to do.” That’s the only explanation I give him as I turn and leave the building. As I leave, I find it’s much easier to exit than it is to get in. On my way out, I think of my newest target.

“No matter how well you’ve hidden yourself from the world, my little Luna Nera, I will find you. After I have had my fun, I will give you what you’re destined for. Death.” I love a good challenge, and she will be my greatest conquest yet.

Chapter Three

Moon

It’sbeenthreeweekssince that stupid dream, and I’m beginning to think I made the whole thing up. My parents always did say I have a very creative mind, and now I see why. I’m on my way to work, and that always gives me the joy I’ve been missing.

First things first, coffee. I stop at the local Java Joltz and pick up my favorite kind, straight black and a blueberry muffin to go with it. Ten minutes after that, I’m on my way to the second place that gives me the most peace, besides the comfort of my home.

Walking through those doors always gives me a good feeling. People think I’m crazy because I actually love coming to my job.
