“Didn’t you though?” She laughs, releasing me as she begins to surround everyone in the club. “Hear me now, none will live to see another day. This is the end of the road for you all.”

“What the hell is that?” I hear someone shout.

“I don’t know, let’s get out of here!” Comes the worried voice of another man.

I hear men and women shout as they start running to the closed and locked windows, banging on them to try and open them.

“Why don’t they want to open?”

“Because you can not leave here!” She roars, swooping down and pushing through his body. As he drops to the floor, others watch as he hits the ground with a thud. His eyes and tongue have been removed. People begin to scream, running into each other and knocking themselves down in the process.

“Enough!” I yell. One by one, I rip them apart. My Kiss of Death is too easy a death for them and by the time I’m finished, I’m basking in their blood.

Killing them didn’t take nearly as long as I thought it would. I left a few of them alive for the sole purpose of getting information from their blood.

“You can come out now, Laney.” I shout over my shoulder as I round up the lucky five guests that will assist me.

“So, that was pretty awesome.” She beams, jumping up and down as she comes to stand by my side.

“This part is even more awesome, if you have the stomach for it.” I smile at them, letting my fangs show them what’s coming next. “You all have been selected to help give me more information as to what was going on here. I’m not asking, I’m telling you and once I am done, death will welcome you.” I give them a minute to process before I say, “Let us begin.”

They start backing away from me as Laney steps up and grabs my arm.

“May I help?” She whispers in a childlike voice.

“How can you help?” I wonder what she has under her sleeve.

“There is something else I can do.” She looks up with hope in her eyes.

“Show me.” I order because now, she has my attention. I watch as she lets go of my arm and walks over to a man that is crying as if that’s going to save him.

She takes his face in her hands, looks him directly in the eye, and says, “You’re okay, everything is going to be okay. Wouldn’t you agree?” He shakes his head yes. “Excellent. Now, my friend here has some questions, you’re going to answer them, right?” Another head shake. “That’s what I like to hear. Now turn your neck, leave your hands at your sides, and everything will be over before you know it, yes?” He shakes his head again before he does all that she asks.

“Yes, ma’am.” He says, completely fascinated with Laney as she speaks to him like he’s a child. She lets his face go and comes back to stand by me.

“He’s ready now.” She says with a shit-eating grin on her face.

“So, you can enchant people as well?”

“If that’s what you want to call it.”

“Why didn’t you do that to all those men you encountered while you were here?” I ask, because if she could have made them do her bidding, then she could have left a long time ago.

“There are cameras everywhere and plus I don’t think I truly believed I could be something more until today. Speaking of cameras, I’m surprised no one has come crashing in here yet and stopped you from reigning down on this place.” She says, looking around. “Imagine, everything you’ve ever done in your pathetic life has been filmed to use against you some time later on down the line.” She shrugs her shoulders.

“Don’t you worry about that, Laney. My mother has taken care of that for us.” I wonder what else she was doing when she spread herself around this place. “Darkness is on our side.” I smile a wicked smile at her as I push past her. “It’s time to finish this.”

“While you work on him, I’ll get the others ready.” She winks, moving on to our next victim. I don’t know this girl from Adam, but already, she’s making me proud. Revenge is a dish best served cold, and my little Fire starter will get revenge on the others responsible for the life she was forced to live. Today is turning out to be a dark yet great day.

Chapter Twelve

Moon

Afterashortwhile, everything is in order for me to start. Glancing over in Aryas’s direction, I see that he is deep in thought or meditating. Huh, didn’t take him for a very spiritual guy. I shrug my shoulders and have a seat behind my round table that reminds me so much of the one from The Golden Girls.

“That was one helluva show, I’ll tell you that.” Faythe says, popping in from nowhere.

“Miss Faythe!” I gasp. “You scared me half to death… Again” I squeal, clutching my imaginary pearls and throwing my hand over my forehead.
