“Yes, what, my Little Doe?”
“Yes, I’ll be yours. You have to promise to give me all that and more.” I pant. What the fuck am I doing agreeing to be something I know nothing about? That’s what happens when you’re a starved for sex, virgin, that lives a very vanilla life.
“I’ll give you whatever you want as long as your moans, your sighs, and your pleasure is all mine and no one else's.” How can he ask that of me when we don’t know anything about each other?
“You shouldn’t have said all those things in your mind if you never intended to act them out. I don’t care if I don’t know you, that’s the thing about life. We have an eternity to get to know one another.” I dunno. This is too weird to be true, but I find myself wanting to play along… So I do.
“Okay, if you say so. I have work to do, and I’m now in need of some new clothes. No thanks to you.” I grunt, trying to pull my tattered blouse and bra together to shield me from prying eyes.
“Don’t worry, I’ll buy you more. After all, that’s what an Alpha does.” Leave it to him to try and be romantic with that mysterious-ass announcement.
“Alrighty then. You said you wanted me to contact someone that died a while ago, correct?”
“Yes. They aren’t my family or anything, but I have a hunch about the way they died.” Interesting. Now I need to know more. I’m not nosey, but if I can help solve a murder, I’ll do my damned best.
“Okay, I’ll bite. You’ve already told me your name, and I know you aren’t Human. Any chance of you telling me what you are?”
“I am a Gargoyle.” I gasp from his admission.
“Then why are you so sexy?” Fucking shit. I slap a hand over my mouth. Why do I keep doing that?
“Thank you for the compliment, but not all of us are ugly.” He chuckles. “That’s Humans, and the bullshit they made up to scare their kids. Most of us are really a sight to see.” He wags his eyebrows, and now I’m the one laughing.
“Okay, thanks for the clarification on that. Let me go change, and I will meet you right back here.” I say, turning to leave when his hand shoots out and grabs my elbow.
“No, I’ll come with you.” Weird.
“Okay, follow me.”
“Look at you, got yourself a boyfriend. Wait until I tell your grandmother.” Randy says, popping up on the side of me.
“Fuck off!” I yell.
“Are you talking to me?” Aryas asks, looking at me like I’ve lost my mind.
“Nope, not talking to you.” When I chance looking in his direction, I see he’s eyeing me with a please-continue expression. I stifled a groan and started talking again. “I can summon dead people as well as talk to the ones that like to hang around when they don’t have anything better to do with their undead lives.” I shout the last part for Randy.
“Look, bitch, you should be happy someone wants to hang out with your stuck-up ass.” He grunts.
“I’m not stuck-up.” I stop walking and so do they. “I don’t have friends because I prefer to be alone. All I need is my family.” He looks wounded when I don’t add another name to that list. “And you, Randy. I’ll always need you.” I groan, adding an eyeroll. He is such a big baby sometimes.
“I knew you loved me.” He gushes, clapping his hands together.
“Love and tolerate are two different things, bud.” I like to push his buttons every now and again, because he’s not wrong. I have no friends outside of my parents and my Elemental peeps. It’s better that way, because when the time comes for me to disappear again I won’t have anyone to say goodbye to.
“Why would you need to disappear?” Great, leave it to me to think of something as important as that and hot to trot over here catches it. “I already told you what you needed to do to keep me out.”
“Well, if you and Randy both weren’t distracting me, I wouldn’t have that problem now would I?” I growl.
“Did you just growl at me?” Aryas whispers. Instead of answering, I turn on my heel and keep it moving.
I’m slowly becoming accustomed to that predatory look in his eyes that says ‘I will eat you alive given the slightest opportunity to do so’. I find myself wanting to be devoured whole by him, but I can’t. There are bigger things at stake here than me needing an orgasm at the hands of this fine man behind me.
“Keep up, boys, my office is this way.” I call over my shoulder. Thankfully, Aryas can’t see Randy, otherwise, I know they would both be sharing a look that says ‘she’s crazier than a June bug on a hot summer’s day’. That may be true, but they still follow my crazy ass.
“You’re putting on quite a show for him, aren’t you?” Randy says, sliding up next to me.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about, Randy.” Smiling wickedly never felt so good, because Randy does know me. I am putting an extra sway to my hips and ass because Aryas is walking behind me.
