“Fuck off, twerp.” I whisper.
“Did you say something?” Hot Stuff asks.
“Yeah, I said, tell me your name and what you are?” I’ve never wanted someone to take my virginity as much as I do now. Maybe that’s what he is, some form of a cupid descendant.
“I can assure you, that’s not what I am, Miss?” Fucking shit on a stick. He can hear my thoughts, too? “I sure can, and thank you for wanting me to be your first, but I don’t think you’d be able to handle me.” Oooooh, burn.
“You don’t know what I can and can’t handle, Mister.” Are we going to play this childish game of who is going to say their name first or what?
“Or what, if you want to.” He says, smiling wickedly at me.
“Fine, my name is Juniper. Your turn.” I think happy thoughts and put up a very shaky mental block. Sure I could do that with Randy, but where is the fun in that?
“My name is Aryas.”
“Peachy, what can I do for you, Aryas?” I ask, trying to get down to the real reason he’s here and completely ignoring the fact that he knows I’m lying. Too bad, I’m not giving you the goods. Well, those goods anyways. I snort out loud.
“Do you find something funny?” Oh, he’s getting a little agitated. Good to know.
“Yeah, this whole thing is funny actually. What is it you think I do? Who told you where to find me? What are you?” I spit out question after question, not giving him the chance to get one answer in.
Suddenly there is a gust of wind that enters the waiting area and my hair begins to swirl around. Aryas’s eye color has shifted from brown with a hint of violet, to completely violet as he stalks toward me. I begin backing up when I see him coming towards me, thinking I can escape whatever this is, but he has other plans in mind.
“Do you really think that you can get away from me, Little Doe?” He asks as his left hand reaches out and grabs me around my neck. Why is this so fucking hot, and why is my neck the first thing they go for? I should be screaming at the top of my lungs, but instead, my core is screaming that she needs some kind of release from this beast of a man.
“No, I’m not trying to get away from you. I’m merely getting out of your way as you throw a tantrum.” My confession has him throwing his head back, releasing the sexiest laugh I’ve ever heard, but as soon as he comes back down, I’m not prepared for what happens next.
“Good, because now that I know you want me, there’s no way you will be able to escape me.” He groans, leaning down to my open mouth, claiming my lips as his own. Whatever I was about to argue, he swallows my words whole, causing me to whimper. He gives my throat a rough squeeze when I don’t kiss him back, causing me to give into his silent demand.
I open for him as a moan escapes my lips to which he swallows again. “None of that, I’m going to be the only one you moan for, and I don’t like sharing what’s mine.” He confesses.
“Goddess.” I moan again against his lips, but this one he doesn’t have the chance to swallow.
“I am no God.” He grunts, savagely taking what he wants from this kiss.
What the hell am I thinking? I don’t care how hot that was or that he wants me too, I have to remember that something else is going on here entirely. Doing the only thing I can think of in a time like this, I knee him square in the balls, and naturally, he goes down without a fight.
“Why did you do that?” He gasps.
“Because, you’re lying to me. I don’t like liars or people that come intomyworkplace fishing for information.” I huff.
“Your eyes, why are they changing like that?” He asks.
“Not that it’s any of your business, but it happens when my emotions run high, or I’m mad, or- Don’t friggin worry about it, just know that it revolves around my emotions.” I say, stooping down to his level. “You can either tell me what it is you’re doing here or I can make you leave.” I growl at him.
“Good to know. I’ll definitely file that away for later use.” He says, slowly getting up off the floor. “I need information from someone that is no longer living. I heard that's your area of expertise.” He begins. “But I'm getting the feeling you're something more than you let on.”
“Oh yeah? What more do you think I am? First, you said that you heard I was the best, now you’re saying I’m something more. Which one is it?” Think happy thoughts, think happy thoughts, I will myself. The last thing I need him to find out is the truth about me.
“What are you hiding that’s making you shield your thoughts? I can feel it. While you aren’t that strong, I should be able to penetrate them with ease.” Penetrate, why out of all that he just said am I stuck on the word penetrate? “You will need to master that skill if you don’t want me or anyone else who is telepathic to know, Little Doe.”
“Look, you don’t know me, and I’m starting to think that fantasizing about all the wicked, good things you could do to my body was a mistake. I want you to leave now. Unless you will be honest with me.” I’m hoping he sees things my way, but looking at him and the way he carries himself, I can see that won’t be happening.
“I am sorry, I can not be completely honest with you because you are not delivering the same to me. You have your secrets, and I have mine. Can you help me contact someone that was killed some years ago or not?” He growls, and it goes straight to my center.
“The question shouldn’t be whether I can because something tells me you already know the answer to that.” He’s a mystery I can’t seem to figure out just yet, but given time, I could make him talk.
“You can’t make me do anything, Little Doe.” What is it with that stupid nickname? Dammit, I did it again. I completely ignored the fact that he read my mind because I was momentarily blindsided by his choice of nickname. I suppose now is as good a time as any to show him who he’s dealing with.
