Got his ass!
He’s in the warehouse district. He has housing in one of the buildings.
Rock
I’m on it.
I quickly pocketed the phone, not even realizing that Ivy had once again sidled beside me.
“Brice, can we have lunch together later?” I internally groaned at her question.
I swear, this shit is like déjà vu.
“If we can get the number of patients down on the floor. I think we can swing it.”
“Okay, see you later,” she said as she walked off, turning around to give me a flirty finger-wiggling wave.
Fuck!
I continued down the hall, hoping and praying that we would have so many patients today that I wouldn’t have time to eat.
I’d never been happier to pull into the garage. Twelve long ass hours later I was where I wanted to be.
Home.
I took a minute to let my heartbeat slow down, feeling elated to know that my world was waiting for me on the other side of the door. I felt my body would give out on me only moments ago before I made it home, but the mere thought of her presence reinvigorated me.
I finally exited my truck and entered the house. Standing inside the foyer, I smiled, watching her bounce around the kitchen in one of my graphic tees. She was so beautiful, even more so in her happiness, and I would kill any motherfucker who dare tried to take that away from her. I took my shoes off by the door and hurried past her before she realized I was there. I threw my work bag into the laundry room and headed to wash up for dinner.
The smell of whatever she had cooked filled my nose as I entered the kitchen. She still hadn’t realized I was present as she wiped down the counters.
“Tay,” I said as I walked closer to her. She jumped when I called out her name, her hand immediately reaching her chest.
“Brice, damn you scared me.”
“I’m sorry, Baby. Are you good?” I asked as I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her back. I only asked because for her not to realize I was there meant that she was in her head about something.
“Yeah, I was thinking about this whole Costa problem.”
“That’s not anything for you to worry about, Tay.”
“Don’t tell me that I can’t worry about anything that involves you, Brice.”
“That’s fair. Speaking of, I got some info on him today. His daughter started flying off at the mouth and gave up some goods. He’s down at the warehouse district. She said he owns several buildings, and one has housing inside.” She flipped around quickly in my arms, and I backed her into the counter, caging her in. I placed several kisses on her lips, tilting her head to the side to expose her neck, where I put several more.
“You…You talked to Ivy today?”
“Mmmhmm,” I hummed as my tongue tasted her skin, not giving a second thought to her question.
“Alone?”
“Tay!” I said, pulling back to look into her eyes. Hers traveled curiously over my body. I wore a variation of sweats and a tee, which I wore every time I showered at work.
“You showered before coming home?” I lifted her chin to look into her eyes before gripping her lightly by the throat. I closed the space between us further, bringing my face to hers.
“Tay…” She sucked in a breath and I tightened my grip feeling her heartbeat race beneath my thumb.
“I don’t like where your thoughts are taking you. The answer is: I showered so I could come home and hold my babies without having to do it as soon as I walked in. The second answer is no. I have never, nor will I ever, cheat on you. I’m a loyal nigga. I’m also turned on by the fact that you were about to try to run a fade on me. Baby, please understand that it’s you, and only you. I told you last night that I was fucking obsessed didn’t I?” I turned her back around so that her ass was against my erection.
