“Almost seven years, but I opened this shop just over two years ago,” I answer.
She moves closer and presses her tits against me. “Do you have a girlfriend?”
I step back and grin. “Nope.”
She steps closer and smiles up at me. “Would you like one?”
A laugh just slips out of me, and I don’t even care. This chick went from cool to crazy in two seconds.
“Darling, let me give you a little advice. A man likes a challenge, not a certainty.”
With that, I walk away.
I’m not a cocky prick, not all the time, but I don’t have trouble getting with a woman. Sometimes an easy lay is just that, but I do like a challenge. I like a woman that brings more to the table than just a pair of fake tits and a wet pussy.
Those women are getting harder to find.
“There are some crazy chicks here tonight,” Waylen says.
I laugh, finishing off my beer. “That’s the fucking truth.”
“You think there are any real women left in New York?” he asks.
“Honestly my man, I have no idea but I fucking hope so,” I reply.
I’m not looking to settle down, but I’m not opposed to actually being with just one woman. It’s been a long time and the older I get the more I realize it would be nice to have someone. Like J.R. and his wife. They’ve been together for years and they are still crazy about each other. I wouldn’t mind something like that.
When I was a teenager watching my mom struggle with losing the love of her life, I didn’t think I’d ever want to deal with that. I thought it was ridiculous to give yourself to someone so much so that you end up losing yourself in the end. When she died, I was sad but a part of me was thankful she would finally be reunited with my father.
If my mom was still alive, I’d tell her that I understand. Not how she stopped living, but how she loved someone so much. I’ve seen it and it is pretty fucking amazing.
It’s just finding someone I can tolerate for more than a conversation and fuck.
Maybe one day.
I stand with Waylen watching people dance. It’s easy to see who is getting laid and who isn’t.
“Should I go tell that guy he’s never gonna get any pussy dancing like that?” Waylen asks.
We laugh as the front door opens again. I glance over and notice a large group of people leaving.
I dip my brows and look at Waylen. “You notice a lot of people leaving? Normally, they are here until we’re kicking them out.”
He looks around and shrugs. “Yeah, I guess the crowd does seem to be thinning out.”
“And I know why,” Harry says, handing me a flyer.
I read over it and crush it in my hand. “This bitch,” I growl, staring at Harry.
“What?” Waylen asks.
I try to get my anger under control as I turn my head toward him. “Leah has a private party tonight.”
“Fuck,” he slowly says.
Fuck is right.
I throw the flyer down and walk toward the door. It’s time to pay my favorite princess a visit. She’s crossed the line this time.
