“What are we going to do?” his mother asked, once things calmed.
Gregory spoke first.
“We could get married for real. I mean, it’s all booked. Then you decide what to do with the money. You can give it to charity, give some to your sisters, or do something else with it. At least that way, you’re the one in control, and it takes the burden off your mother.”
Oscar saw his mother’s eyes well up.
“What’s wrong?” he asked her.
“You... you don’t let this man go, Oscar.”
“I don’t intend to.”
CHAPTER19
GREGORY
“Please put your hands together for Mr and Mr Montgomery!”
So much for making a subtle entrance. Why had Gregory agreed to Jason being in charge of their wedding reception? It had been a whirlwind the past three weeks, getting ready for today, and the reality that he was now married still hadn’t sunk in. It was quick to satisfy the terms of the will, but this was inevitable for them. Gregory knew that in his heart. They were just doing things backwards. They’d hated each other – well, that was more on his side – then they’d had hot sex. Now they were married, and next they were moving in together.
They hadn’t spent a night apart since they’d admitted they loved each other, but they were splitting it between their two places. The plan was for them to get a new place of their own together. Gregory would still have his room at the flat, and that would be there for as long as his brothers needed it. There had been some protests from his brothers about keeping the flat just for them, but he’d put his foot down. He wasn’t about to take their safety net away from them, even if they were all in happy relationships now.
“I still can’t believe you got married before me,” said Charlie.
“You know why,” said Gregory.
“I know, but I’m allowed to sulk.”
Gregory chuckled. Charlie and Sebastian were having an extravagant wedding in March, on the one-year anniversary of when they first met. Gregory and Oscar’s had been a quick registry office do, but they’d had to promise his new mother-in-law that the reception would not be at Pizza Express.
They were having it at Knights Corner. The kitchen and storage areas were still being renovated, although not today, but the bar and restaurant were finished, and Gregory loved how the place had turned out. He’d allowed Oscar’s mother to arrange the decorating and catering, but they didn’t want a sit-down meal, just to spend the day celebrating with their family and friends. Gregory’s family hadn’t shown up; it was what he’d expected. He’d extended an invitation, not because he wanted them there, but because he didn’t want to feel any guilt on his wedding day about not inviting them. He didn’t need them. His brothers and Oscar were his true family.
Gregory slipped his hand in his pocket and felt the box of cufflinks Oscar’s mother had gifted him. They’d belonged to her father, and she wanted him to have them as his something old. Not wanting to risk anything happening to them, he slipped away to his office to change them. He’d worn them for the ceremony, but they were priceless to him, and with drinking and dancing to come later, plus the wedding night at a suite in the tallest hotel in the UK, he was putting them away for safekeeping.
After swapping the cufflinks, he put the box in his desk drawer and turned to leave as the door opened.
“Why are you hiding?” asked Oscar.
“I was just putting your grandfather’s cufflinks away, so they didn’t get damaged or lost.”
He smiled, and then it turned into a smirk.
“What?”
“I want you to fuck me.”
“Now? Here?”
Oscar nodded and lunged forward, picking Gregory up and pushing him back against the wall as he slammed their mouths together.
“Over the desk. Now.”
Oscar’s eyes flashed with heat as he lowered Gregory down and made quick work of unbuttoning the trousers of his morning suit. The jacket came off as well.
“Leave the shirt and tie on,” said Gregory.
Oscar grabbed him into another searing kiss before he bent over the desk, showing that perfect arse Gregory couldn’t wait to own for the millionth time. They’d fucked a lot in the last few weeks, but this would be the first time as husbands, so it had a deeper meaning. Gregory couldn’t help but chuckle.
